For those of you that are not D&C members, the joining thread is ...HERE... Keep in mind you don't need to read the whole thread, just the hierarchy and rules. Remember this is the REBELS PACK Not Ice Pack! And Yes, the Rebels are the bad guys...

Many moon cycles into Ice Packs best days, in the rationed supply of food in the far away territories of Rebel land, prey began to fade... Less and less calves were being born, and the herds began to move on. Entire fields died, left baron and dry in the cold landscape. Star, current leader of Rebels Pack, must now find a new hope for their pack, or suffer the dire consequences.

However, soon after the prey's disappearance, what little food they could salvage began to look- uneditable. Wolves began to refuse to eat their fresh shares, and soon became snappy and aggressive. Attacking their pack mates- and even plants on occasions. Five and Jed had no option but to put these 'Infected' wolves down... Loosing half the pack to 'The Blue Shadow Virus', Star has desperately lead what little remains of her pack away from their sacred grounds... and into unknown territory.

But is all Star says as it seems...

Star sat in the corner of her den, head bowed in deep thought, her light pink eyes closed as thoughts ran through her head. 'We will have to leave, there is no other soultion, the pack will die if we do not,' she thought, opening her eyes as two wolves entered her den.
"Jed! Five! How did the hunt go?" she asked, her voice high with concern as she turned to face them.
Five turned his eyes to Jed, checking if the younger male wanted to inform the leader of the bad news.
"Nothing Star, the herds have moved on.." The brown wolf finally growled, watching as the young she-wolf's shoulders drooped, "Jed, Five, What should I do?" she mumbled, looking to her most loyal followers for there guidance. Five blinked at her and shrugged,
"I believe you already know what to do young leader," he murmured, turning and padding away, his ribs poking from his sides, it was obvious that he had been starving himself and giving his food to others.
Star watched as her Inquisitor exited her den before turning her albino eyes on Jed, waiting for his answer.

Jed's actions were as predicted. He mirrored Five's. However he remained unusually silent until Five had exited the den.
"Alphess." He began, sitting down and lifting his head up high in a friendly manor, rather than 'Pack Submissive' (Basically he wasn't sitting politely like he should :p) He wrapped his tail around his tall, thin, frame.
"You are the only wolf in this land that could lead us through this. Not Five, Not me... Not Starpack. You. And whatever you choose to do, the pack will back you one-hundred percent." He spoke as a friend, not a follower- with a small smile at the end of his words.
The famine struck the larger wolves the hardest. Jed and Five had become extremely thin, and movements became painful. Everyday Jed went on as little food as he could, so he wasn't to become too thin. However his large bulk needed more food- and his instincts were driving mad, telling him to abandon the pack. Any other blue wolf would've. But Jed remained loyal to his allies.

"There has been no signs of Infected the past week. Everyone's eating as normal." He finally began to speak as one of the pack. He lifted his head up tall and slightly looked at the ceiling.

(If you don't understand that dont worry too much, I haven't rped in Months XD!)

Star studied Jed's body language and smirked but felt warmth and inspiration grow inside her heart as he spoke.
"Thank you Jed," she said softly, smiling. "you look thin, you shouldn't beed starving yourself, not you
or five, not while I stay so fat," she said, watching is frail form. "Here, take this," she said, padding
away into the back of her den and returning with a dried rabbit.

Jed stood up and backed off a paw step, dropping his ears a little. "You are not fat Alphess. You need to be in shape for the sake of the pack. My and Five's sacrifice isn't inflicting any disabilities on our service to the pack. Please-" He insisted, lifting his right paw up a little, yet grinning slightly- In thanks for her offer. "But thanks for the concern." He added a few moments later, almost stuttering on 'But'.

Moon wandered out from his hole and out into the baron land. Merely five or so wolves had survived the worse of the Virus. It was saddening... Only the major ranks survived, everyone was pulling what little weight they had to try and sustain a reasonable order. But with the disappearances of the birds now, it was all seemingly worthless. Star had to do something. Fast!
He noticed the Blue wolf and the Brown wolf wandering into Star's lair. And the brown wolf leaving minuets later. Moon shook his head a little. "Five!- I mean. Sir?" He called, forgetting that even in desperate times, even when the hierarchy doesn't exist, he was still the Omega... Before the hunters were 'Infected', they would snarl and yell, arguing why he survived and a majority of the females and pups didn't. Alot of wolves lost their families to the Virus... Moon had nothing to loose so was probably least affected.

Voices from the den woke the she-wolf, ears perked up to try and catch some good news, but there was none to be found. Although her frame had not been as thin as some of the she-wolves, she had lost a lot of weight, perhaps not so much as Jed and Five but still a larger amount than some. The pack needed a more reliable source of food... The prey had always come and gone as it chose, but the herds had been culled with a disease that had later attacked their pack, killing off the weaker members. There were only a few of them left, though even with this amount of members, the pack was struggling to feed them. Stretching out with a yawn, she rose to her paws, shaking out her fur and taking a few steps closer to the den, and the voices. "We can't stay here like this..."

Star felt bubbles rise in her stomach and hey eyes grew haunty. Gulping slightly she pushed away
the nauseus feeling. "Jed, Im going to move the pack, we cant stay here," she announced
finally, all signs of the previous sickness she had felt vanishing. Anyway, its what everyone
expects me to do. Light pink eyes sharp she turned, bounding out of den and up onto High Rock.
"Rebels! I have an announcement!" She barked, strong eyes scanning the ragged clearing.

Jed narrowed one of his eyes and he saw the sick-look cross Stars maw. He froze in his position, One paw up and leaning back, yet he cocked his head aside and perked his ears up as he noted her expression. As she walked off it was clear to him that she was trying to hide the weakness. As an Alpha would... He loosened up but watched her closely as she walked outside her den.

For a few moments, Jed wanted to stop her, ask if she was okay, but he restrained himself. At least until she had finished with the pack. He padded out and walked out to the rock, sitting in front of it and listening up to her. Although a little saw, his movements weren't affected by the famine, he could clear high distances with as much ease as when he was in shape. But he knew that if he were to loose too much weight he'd be a target for the virus. For now... Everyone was hunted by the infected...

Moon walked towards Star as she called. He lifted his ears and sat down, watching her blizzard white fur brush in the cold wind teh whistled through the dead or dying trees that once shielded their den sight.

Making sure to stay out of the way as Star bounded out of the den, the betess folowed at her own pace, taking it easy. Unlike before, when they would all have full bellies and plenty of energy, she prefered not to waste what little she did have now. No doubt Star's announcement would be to move, so she was in no rush to get closer, she could hear fine where she was. Although she had never been a typically friendly wolf, the lack of food had made her quite irritable, so perhaps staying back from what remained of the others was a better idea.

Five sat down, watching as Star prepared to make her announcement. The High Inquisitor flicked his ear, studying his nieces health as she moved, still moving well, but her eyes looked dull. Frowning he waited for her begin.

Star glanced around the clearing... so few left. Oh father... she thought, glancing up at the sky. "As you all know Prey is vanishing and we are starving!" she barked, turning her eyes to her little, weak pack. "Many of you wish for the pack to abandon its once bountiful lands, and my decision is made," she growled, flicking her ears to them. "We leave immediatly, Collect anything you wish to bring with you, We depart when the moon begins to rise," she snapped before turning and retreating into her den. Like alot of the other wolves her temper was running short... as was her health.
