Rosethorn spotted two cats along the river. She immediately recognized them and cleared her throat. "Excuse me.. What do you two think you are doing? Shouldn't you be with your mentors, or a patrol?"

Lizardpaw hissed silently. "Our mentors just told us to come to the river and check if the scents were fresh, and they had to go and check o something else, they wouldn't tell us what." she said confidently, flicking Blackpaw with her tail as a signal to say, go with it

[growl]

Blackpaw ignored her tail flick, he already had the story running in his head. "Snowfall's around here somewhere. Cloverwish went to make sure the training grounds are free. As soon as we get some fish, we're going to battle train."

"Alright, as long as that's the case. Carry on, but as soon as you're done I expect you to be training." Rosethorn shook her head at the apprentices and stalked away in search of prey.

"That was close" Lizardpaw breathed. She stood closer to Blackpaw and sighed. "They'll never leave us alone, just because we're apprentices"

Shadowleap slowed down when she got to a small cave. "Go inside, Stormpaw" Shadowleap meowed.

Cloverwish Wandered around some pine trees silently her emerald green eyes slitted and on the look out for prey. her ears pricked and swiveled and her head whipped to one side. She darted from tree to tree then finally she ran in a creamy streak and caught the plump

brown rabbit throwing it in the air playfully then snapping its neck when it came back down.

"Gotcha."

She said in a low voice muffled by rabbit fur.

Blackpaw winced. He remembered what his mother said to him before Darkflight had taken him away; Don't ever tell anyone about me, they'd never understand either way. But all he muttered was, "Not just because we're apprentices," and stalked off down the path. "Let's go to the training grounds, Rosethorn might still be stalking us."
