Silver shook her head. Secretly, the thought of a mentor frightened her, but she had seen how kind they were to the other apprentices. That thought made her almost... happy.

Blazingpaw's eyes gleamed when he saw the patrol coming back. He bounded toward Swanpaw and offered to take the bird for her. "Let me carry that one, you look like your breathing more feathers than air!" He laughed.

Silverstar looked around again "Have anyone in mind?" she asked Silverpaw.

Silverstar licked Silverpaw's head. "You are safe here." she whispered

Scarfire saw another rabbit and stalked toward it. He punced and pinned it. He killed it with a swift bite to the neck. He dragged the rabbit to where his starling was he collected the prey and waited for Swanpaw.

"Mama!" Mudkit called to his foster other, standing on his paws.

Again she shook her head. "No, not really. I want you to choose." She replied, her mismatched eyes looking up at her.
