Lionsoul agreed with a nod,"I know... And we can't just ask our medicine cat," he stated, seeing Leafsong walk back into camp. She looked hateful which was never a good thing. "But I don't know any other cat with any medicine cat experience," he finished, frowning in frustration.

Leafsong went to the apprentices den and called in,"Jaypaw," but no reply. She was confused, but then the small apprentice came up to her from behind.

"Leafsong, I'm the medicine cat apprentice now," he explained with a slight smile. Jaypaw was so happy he didn't have to try being a warrior anymore. It was more difficult than anyone could imagine.

Wildfire thought of Leafsong. "We need to tell her somtime soon. She's in this too." she sighed. "Starclan knows you two may fight over leader."

Lionsoul nodded,"Yeah, we should tell her now," agreeing with that. But then he heard what else she had to say. He looked over at the warrior and shook his head,"No, I wouldn't fight for that position. I would just make sure the right cat got it, unlike Leafsong. She's too battle hungry," he explained, looking back to Wildheart. He then got to thinking, Jaypaw once helped him with a scratch... Maybe he could be the medicine cat?

Wildheart looked around. "You would still make a great leader. Now, speaking of Leafsong.. Where did she go." Wildheart couldn't very much imagine Leafsong a leader.

Lionsoul looked around camp and saw the warrior speaking with her apprentice. "There, she's talking to Jaypaw. Let's go tell her," he suggested, not caring if the whole clan found out at this point. He stood and glanced back at Wildheart to make sure she was following.

Wildheart looked in the direction of Lionsoul. She noticed, as he said, leafsong speaking to Jaypaw. As Lionsoul started walking, Wildheart followed.

Lionsoul looked at Leafsong to see she was fired up. "What's wrong?" he asked, more demanding, haistly. He didn't want the warrior to be too worked up before they told her the news. He was surprised to see pain in her eyes when she glared at him.

"Jaypaw's become a medicine cat apprentice!" she explained, spitting the words out as if there was mouse bile in them. "He's apparently been training himself instead of practicing his battle moves!" Leafsong sounded furiouse, but her fur lied flat against her skin as she dug her claws into the dirt beneith her.

Jaypaw reasoned,"I was no good at battle training," as he looked at Lionsoul and then back to Leafsong. "You were a brillient mentor Leafsong, I just wasn't a good warrior apprentice. I would rather serve my clan where my strengths are, and that's in the medicine cats den," he sighed, the weight of his desission finally falling on his shoulders.

A thought occured to Lionsoul, if Jaypaw's been training himself then maybe he's good enough to be a medicine cat! Then the new clan wouldn't have to go without a medicine cat! He would ask the young apprentice after speaking with Leafsong and Wildheart in private about the whole mess.

Wildheart stayed behind Lionsoul as he figured out what was going on between Jaypaw and Leafsong. She really didn't want to but in. Every once and a while looking over Lionsoul's sholder to see.

Shadowheart sorted her herbs quietly.
