(I'm majoring in Biology, Zoology,Osteology and Zootomy. It's all a ratio game. It's not the wing span that calculates how easy or proficient they are at flying or hovering. It's a compaination of weight, muscle mass, heart size and beats per minute, and bone density and wingbeats. As every bird has 'honey combed bones' it density is based on how large and how many chambers there are. Humming birds have stringier muscles compared to an eagle but paired with their angled wings and almost hallowed bones they're able to hover easier, not to mention their insanely fast heart beat and fast wing beats. For hawks and falcons they have power muscles, rigdid wings and denser bones but slower heart beat and wingbeats but it's stronger which allows them to dive bomb, fish, and attack other birds with easier ease. Eagles and falcons glide because of this and humming birds hover because of this. It's got little dealing with the actual wing size but rather the whole body, muscle system and bones. Thought I'd clear some of that up.)
Where I can jump in for a half hour?
