Cinder holds back a laugh as the cat calls out. "Uh, maybe?" She chuckles from her hiding spot before bursting out laughing. She leaps out from her cover, still laughing. "I'm sorry Pikestar." The young rogue clamps her mouth shut, trying to stop herself from laughing, but in the end, it doesn't work and she keeps laughing.

His ears flick up at the young she-cat who put herself before him fearlessly. She looked about his age, slim and fit as any wild cat so this wasn't a twoleg kitty by the looks of if. "Ah, lurking in the shadows trying to jump me? You shouldn't be here you know, Crowstar would be so mad if he found strangers on the territory." Putting a paw on his blue jay, half curious if she'd already hunted something on their land.

Cinder casts a brief glance at the bird under the tom's paw. "Yeah, I know, but I don't mind. Your leader won't find me, or be able to catch me for that matter." She meows, shrugging. "Anyway, name's Cinder." The shecat felt she could trust the tom, just a little, as he wasn't aggressive towards her. Plus, he seemed to be about the same age as herself.

He wasn't too surprised by her confident reply, after all he had a habit of being overconfiden and quick thinking. "Cinder huh? My name is Piketail, since star is reserved to actual leaders only... But someday I'll take the lead!" Seeing her calm for the most part, he plops down and stares at her curiously. "But then again, I guess you're your own leader. What's it like out here being alone? Independent?"

"Nice to meet you, Piketail slash Pikestar." She teases, grinning at the tom. "And to answer your question, it's... fun I guess." Cinder meows, also sitting down. "I'd say it's easier than clan life, big able to eat when I want, sleep when I want, an cross borders when I want. But it's also kinda lonely since I go around alone... I don't mind though, I've got used to it." She finishes, shrugging.

He didn't like the sound of 'crossing the border' but it wasn't his job to start fights, he was more sensible than that. As a kit he'd always wanted to keep the peace with the rank of medicine cat, but he'd never been talented enough to claim the rank. "Aren't there other rogues and loners out here to talk to? We find new scents every once in a while around the border from cats like you."

"Most likely, yes, but I either don't bump into them or I don't like them." Cinder meows, nodding. "I don't mind clan cat company, as long as their sorta kind, like you." She looks the tom up and down, as if sizing him up. There was no need to type manipulate the tom, he didn't seem to fussed that she was around. "Enough about me and my loneliness, how's clan life?" She asks after a short silence.

"Boring as usual." He states simply, not wanting to give any important information to the rogue she-cat. "Our leader didn't assign any patrols this morning so hardly anyone has moved far from the den. But I'm sure Lichenstorm will grow impatient soon enough and order us all around some more." As he'd done the other day, but the young tom didn't mind. He was still too young to give orders and lead patrols as his leader skills needed some refining. "It's easy to be lonely surrounded by cats who don't see you, so don't think it's all that and a mouse."

Cinder nods. "So do you like clan life? Despite the fact that you et bossed around a lot." She asks, her stomach suddenly grumbling, letting her know that she hadn't eaten yet. Her amber gaze fixes on the tom's bird hungrily but she swiftly looks away, he tom would need that for his clan.
