Mousepaw groaned, rolling over onto her back. "Yeah." she replied, but didn't make any move to get up. "Songpaw, you okay?"

Ashcloud shot Pineclaw a shocked look. "A h-hunting patrol? So soon?" she mewed, knowing Shiverwhisker likely wouldn't clear her for that till her strength had completely returned and she got some meat on her bones. She fluffed out her fur, watching Pebblerun leave. She already didn't like this cat.

"If you don't feel up to it, you don't have to." replied Pineclaw immediately, not caring that he was contradicting the deputy's decision. "Let's get you something to eat. Then you can go see Shiverwhisker." he continued, gesturing towards the fresh-kill pile. "Alright?'

Ashcloud flashed him a smile and nodded. "Alright." she meowed, rising to her paws beside him. Things looked as if they'd changed. A lot. But she'd get used to it and merge in with the rest of the Clan. She'd have help, too. She was certain Pineclaw would help her to fit in with it all. She couldn't wait to get back to her warrior duties. Moons of been cooped up in a twoleg den had been torture, and she hadn't been able to hunt for real food or anything.

At that, Mousepaw raised her head. Rolling back onto her stomach, she got to her paws. She padded over to Songpaw. "What's wrong?" she asked, concerned.

Pineclaw nodded, leading the way over to the fresh kill pile. He sat down, gesturing for her to take her choice of prey. Then began to work at cleaning the debris out of his fur.

Ashcloud chose the firs thing she saw. A robust little vole. She hoped the choice was okay as she began to eat away at it, looking around occasionally. She felt safer, but she still also felt unsure. Were their any other cats in the Clan that would be a cold as Pebblerun? She didn't know for sure.
