willowbreeze meandered along the edge of the fence that locked them into the sanctuary. she kept her nose close to the ground as she kept moving forward just in case she stumbled open some random herbs. finally, the medicine cat came across a small opening in the bottom of the fence, just wide enough for a slim cat to slip through. she wiggled underneath, shoving her shoulders through the small gap and finally breaking through to the other side.

the new deputy slipped his way inside the barn silently, treading slightly over the scraps of hay to come to a halt just a few fox lengths away from boulderstar. leoardstrike sat down, sweeping his tail in a wide circle around him before curling around his paws. "sorry to disturb you so soon after a clan meeting, boulderstar. but i was just wondering about the apprentices' training who was delayed and the journey to the forest tomorrow." leopardstrike was pretty confident on how he would be able to handle such a tasks being deputy - having watched and admired past deputies from a distance. he was ready for the role, and quite eager as well.

After scrambling into Leopardstrike, she had expected something more. While it was true he had his own business to attend to now that he was deputy, but it was literally seconds ago that he was announced as deputy. Shaking her head, she knew it wasn't fair to demand his attention when he had to discuss stuff with Boulderstar, and he had promised to be back soon, after all. Still, he didn't reply much like he normally would- some form of banter, or something- and was rather.. Kinda formal. She hoped this didn't continue. She genuinely didn't like the thought that she'd have to deal with an uptight and no-sense-of-humour mentor after this. Straightening her back, her whiskers twitched as she curled her tail around her paws. He'd be back soon, but for the time being, she was able to do what she willed. Trotting away from her position with a snort, for a moment, Leopardstrike lingered in her mind before she shook her head.

Boulderstar thought a bit before speaking. How would the apprentice training go during this? Would they all be delayed? He shook his head faintly, looking up at Leopardstrike. "Well.. the apprentices will have to learn how to hunt as we search for a camp. We can take breaks every so often so we can have cats go off and hunt, taking a few apprentices with each patrol. Hah," He laughed, noticing how he assumed they would have enough cats well and trained enough to actually go out and hunt. There were a few new cats, yeah, but none of them really knew how to hunt or defend themselves if anything happened.

"Well, I think getting the clan out is more of a priority than apprentices right now. Tomorrow, we'll wake just before sunrise. It'll be dark enough that the twolegs won't see us. The fence opening we've created is wide enough for only one cat to go at once. We'll have the kits, queens and apprentices go through first. Then we'll just trip down the list, allowing the smallest cats to go through. Bigger cats, like me, might have to leap over. It'll be a strain, but I refuse to leave any cat behind."

flamefall shrugged, following noel to the sunning rocks and sitting on one slightly lower than hers. the warrior yawned quietly. "if there's enough time left in the day, we could." she stretched out, pale eyes wandering to the rapidly darkening sky. flamefall could've sworn she felt her heart jump into her throat. she was excited for the escape... but she couldn't help but wonder. what if the plan didn't work? how would the twolegs treat her clanmates if they failed the escape? shaking away the thoughts, flamefall gave a quiet sigh, her gaze finding her paws.

picking her way along the small tufts of grass and in and around the trees, she came across various growths of chamomile and ragwort. willowbreeze purred happily. these herbs would be perfect in helping the cats make their journey back to the forest tomorrow. she still needed to search out sorrel and honey, however. she set down to work at biting each stalk of herb at the root. she would need help in bringing all these herbs back.

leopardstrike nodded his head firmly. "thank you, boulderstar. that was all i had to question about. sorry to disturb you," and with that, he made his exit back into the sunshine. now that he had his anxious worries taken care of, he started toward the still-large group of cats that were left over from the meeting. with his leader's inquires still fresh in his mind, he thought he ought to speed up goldenpaw's training. after being stuck in this miserable sanctuary for a moon or so, they both would be lacking in their skills. leopardstrike purred devilishly. he would make sure she would get her warrior ceremony soon, one way or another.

drew was sat just inside the barn, looking at all the other cats milling about. the she-cat sighed as she began grooming her tail. she then lay down on her belly, still watching all the cats. it made her happy that they had all come together to leave the sanctuary - even she, a house cat, was tired of the life she had. >i didn't really know what to write, but i hope this is okay? she's open cx<

pinepaw was rolling a little ball of hay between his small fluffy paws. he had bits of hay stuck in his long fur, and it was itching him a little but it didn't even slightly faze him. he saw leopardstrike coming out into the sun and his head tilted slightly for no reason. he then turned back to his hay ball, which was rolling away from him. the apprentice mewed in frustration as he began to chase it. >again, didn't know what to write aha. he's open cx<

Boulderstar nodded to the empty space Leopardstrike took up just moments ago. Soon, he wondered how his clan would continue training during such a time. He silently cursed himself for not thinking of something so important sooner, but he set it aside so he could get some rest. He pushed the thought to the back of his mind before readjusting himself in his makeshift nest. He grumbled as the hay pricked his skin, hissing about how it wasn’t like home, but he knew he should be grateful that the cats allowed him and his clan to live in the barn. Not like they had any choice anyways.

Noel’s jaws parted in a yawn, resting her muzzle in between her paws. She shrugged her shoulders, crowning her tail to her side. “I’m too tired to make an effort to find them. Not now, anyways. That meeting took all of my energy. Maybe they'll find us, if Frostkit can see at all with this lack of light.” She said, a small chuckle apparent in her words. She cocked her head to look at the fence, watching the “medicine cat” slip through a hole in the fence. She piped up in inquiry. “Hey, Flamefall, is that the hole we’re going to escape through? Do you know?”

In the midst of distracting herself with wistful thinking, Goldenpaw felt something roll into her foot, and she jumped. Glancing back down at whatever came in touch with her hind-leg, she scoffed lightly at the small roll of hay that lay in front of her. Pressing the back of it lightly with her foreleg to pop it back up, she watched as it bounced into the air, and she caught it swiftly with her other paw. Springing it up again and launching it forwards, a smile broke out on her face as it slid along the grass-clothed ground-- and right into the paws of another cat. Redirecting her gaze forwards and onto the newcomer, she cocked her head as the smile was quickly replaced with tight lips, "Pinepaw? You're Pinepaw, yeah?"

Yew resumed his place in the tree as he watched the sanctuary cats. they all seemed so carefree. he could smell only a lingering scent of the old Amberclan among the rest of the cats. he knew that whatever happened, Amberclan would never be the same again. he would make sure of that.

Peachfur trotted out of the barn and searched for her sister. she was not sure where Quailtail had gotten off to, but she would sniff her out.

"The history?" She repeated Tornado, giving her time to think about her words. Truthfully, the young cat had no idea of her clan's origins, but she knew she should say something. "I've never actually thought about it. Never asked." She admitted with a nervous chuckle. "But I do know about Boulderstar's predecessor, Ferretstar. Apparently he was real small, looked similar to you, I think. The elders at the time of my apprenticeship said he looked like a squirrel. I always found it funny; I think they said it just to create humor." She shrugged her shoulders, laughing quietly under hushed breath. She rested her muscles, laying down in the grass. "Though, if you're asking about the physical origins of my clan, choices and stuff when settling, you'd probably be better off asking Boulderstar or an elder. ..We don't have much of the latter, though." xxxxx

Heather walked out of the barn, sick of the scent of AmberClan cats. She knew she had to get used to it, considering she was joining them, but it was only for her safety.. and to get out of the sanctuary. She had always wanted to escape after Florence was adopted by a pair of twolegs, but there was no way out unless you were adopted out. And nobody wished to take her, to even cast a glance in her sorry direction. At this point, though, she didn't care.

Heather had walked a lap around the sanctuary before an unfamiliar scent alerted her. Her ears perked at the sound of distant rustling. Assuming it was a squirrel or another woodland creature, she craned her head towards a nearby tree. She padded towards it with silent steps, scanning the tree for the meal she was looking for. She was never a fan of the kibble they held, after all. Once she had reached the trunk of the tree, she looked up into it's branches. Instead of seeing the bushy tail of a squirrel, a pair of eyes gleamed brighter than the pelt it belonged to.

"Hello. That's a nice hiding spot, if I am to admit." She spoke to the figure in the tree.
