"Hey Shayta." He said simply. Apparently the vase bothered her to, he was litterally dying with laughter inside. "Looking for anything in particular?" He said approaching the shelf she was looking through.

Shayta pulled a scroll out and glanced at it before replacing it. "Not really. I'm just trying to stave off my boredom while patrols are being assigned." She glanced at Grant and arched her eye-ridge. "Any reason in particular that you're here? I wouldn't have pegged you as the bookish type."

"Oh yeah, they are assigning patrols soon. I pretty much forgot about that." He couldn't possibly see how she could pass time with books and scrolls. "I'm here just for entertainment of bothering the Librarian." He said looking back to the Librarian's desk to she her shushing him.

Shayta huffed inwardly. "You should be nicer to her, really. It's not very polite to bother others." She kept her voice civil, although she disapproved of his hobbies. Grant was a nice enough mouse, and Shayta didn't exactly mind being around him, but still... They were vastly different. "Yeah, they are assigning patrols. It's kind of the central point of a Guardmouses' life, you know."

"Hmm, but it is entertaining. Now that must be somthing you do agree on?" He said smirking. To him, Shayta didn't seem to have much fun or slack off. It was all work and loyality and other crap like that which he hated. "Well I'm sure you already know I hate my job and that I don't care much for it." This was all true and could easily be seen due to his skipping of patroles and stuborness to go on patrols.

"If you hate it so much, why'd you apply in the first place?" Shayta blinked, confused. A slight tapping noise caught her attention and she glanced over to the window. Her eyes brightened in delight. "Li!" Turning to Grant, she held up a toe. "Sorry, please excuse me for a minute." Shayta went over to the window, greeting her swallow friend.

He walked closer to the door, as he did this he said "Probably mostly to spend more time with you. I hope if I do get dragged into patrols you'll be there." before he walked out the door. He walked the other direction of the bird forcing himself not to laugh. She probably knew he was just messing with her. Honestly, his dad forced him to sign up for it.

Shayta looked back, hearing Grant's voice dwindle. Did he leave? She waved a hasty goodbye to Li before darting out of the library. Sprinting down the hallway, she skidded to a stop in front of her fellow Guardmouse and promtly fell over. Shayta got back to her feet and brushed her white fur off, cheeks coloring in mortification. "Wait. We should stick together, to make it easier when they assign patrols.
