Hearing her name called, Kestrelpaw quickly padded out of the apprentice's den toward the she-cat's voice. "Coming Softfeather!" She called.

"I am sure Lionkit would like to spend some time with you." Sableclaw smiled at Sparktuft as he held the wriggling kitten.
She heard cats calling her and Kestrelpaw, and she turned to see the apprentice trotting out of the den. "I've got to go." Sableclaw meowed to the tom. "I'll see you later?" She asked, standing up to head out on patrol.

Redstream had woken up long before dawn to sort herbs. Now they they were sorted, however the tortoiseshell tom found that he had nothing to do. He shrugged and decided to lounge around in the camp. He exited his den and felt sand squish under his paws. He searched the clearing for conversation.

Sparktuft nodded. He set Lionkit down to say goodbye. "See you later." He agreed, smiling at the she-cat "Have fun!" He laced his tail around Lionkit once she had said goodbye. "Come on, princess." He purred gently "Sableclaw has to go now."

Lionkit ran up to Sableclaw and rubbed up against her, purring. "Bye Sableclaw!" She mewed. Then Sparktuft's tail wrapped around her and she turned back toward him.

"Bye Lionkit! Bye Sparktuft!" Sableclaw meowed, turning away. She padded toward the other cats in camp, who must be discussing the patrol by now. It's about time! She thought to herself, irritation prickling her already. I was up before sunrise!
