Windfrost scowled at being contradicted. The slender tom sat down quickly beside the black and white tom, glaring at him with his milky blue eyes. Windfrost was too elderly to fight a badger, and he'd never really trained to be a fighter in the first place.

Spottedpaw nodded to Ravenflame, though he was still worried about him. But, after all, he was his mentor. The cream-colored tom skirted the badger's hulking form and leaped at it. He raked his claws down its side and yowled insults at it.

Smoky approached Ravenflame, going a bit closer to him and asking quietly "do you want me to fight it?".

Ravenflame:

Ravenflame looked at her "Only if you want, I don't want you to have to go through the pain I did."

Smoky nodded, nuzzling him gently before turning back towards the badger and pouncing towards it and biting it as hard as she could.

She walked out of the apprentice den and looked around the clearing for Snowfall.

She walked out of camp and looked around.

Windfrost gazed down at Ravenflame, inspecting the tom's wounds another time. "The marigold should help the wounds feel better. I'll put some oak leaves on them when we get back to camp," he said over the sounds of the fight. He sounded surprisingly calm for one who was witnessing an attack on a badger.

Dapplefur's hold on the badger loosened as it twisted and struggled to throw the cats off. There were now five cats attacking it and another two nearby and it was weakening. Trickles of blood fell from it and onto the leaves on the forest floor. Suddenly, the badger twisted sharply, throwing Dapplefur off. The tortie she-cat snarled as she hit the ground hard. Pushing herself up, she yowled, "Release, but hold your ground. Don't let it get to Ravenflame or Windfrost."

Spottedpaw jumped back as he heard Dapplefur's order. He bared his fangs at the badger, daring it to come closer to his mentor. He stepped back to be in front of Ravenflame, attempting to shield him.

Raven flame nodded slightly "Can I help now?" He asked "I feel so useless" he muttered

Windfrost snorted. "Certainly not. I just got those cuts to stop bleeding. You'll not be fighting any badgers until those heal," he said, his tone firm.
