Flamepaw looked at his rabbit. He then thought of Blackpaw longingly.



Dappleleaf looked at Russettip. "You can go now. Don;t start hunting until at least tomorrow," she sighed.

I'm not a pretender, Barktail already got her there.}

Foxcloud dozed in her nest in the medicine den. She made a note to herself to thank Barktail for helping her with the cobwebs again later.

ic: Moonfur raced into camp, the badger out of site. She panted and lay down in the camp entrance. She could see blood dripping over her paw. luckily it was the badger's not hers. She did have a scrape on her flank though.

Dappleleaf spotted her sister lying down and went over to her. "OK, go into my den now, no questions asked." She then padded over to Blackpaw and Scarletpaw. "Would you two mind clearing up my den? It'll take your minds of the badger," she mewed smileing at the apprentices.

Scarletpaw nodded and shakily headed towards the med-cat den.

Moonfur sighed as she heaved herself into Russettip's old nest in the med den.

When Russettip left, he headed off to hunt immediately.

Dappleleaf watched him leave. "He'll open his leg wound the mouse-brained twit!" she cursed under her breathe. "Well, that's his look out now."

Moonfur lay still, clearly exhausted.

Scarletpaw made two tidy piles of burdock and poppy seeds. She then helped Blackpaw stack the MANY MANY batches of cobwebs.

Shadestar looked around camp. He suddenly realised something bad had happened. He raced over to Jayfrost. "what...what the..what happened?!" he asked alarmed.




Flamepaw looked around camp for his leader. He spotted her. "Shadowstar, can I eat now? I've hunted!" he presented the rabbit.

Shadowstar nodded. "Of course."

Flamepaw beamed at her. "Thanks, I'm starving!" he raced over to the fresh-kill pile by the camp cave entrance. He picked up his crow from earlier. Still here! Marvellous! he thought, hungrily biting chunks of the bird.


Scarletpaw laughed. "Yep!"Dappleleaf inspected the apprentices work on her den. "That's wonderful girls! You did a brilliant job their. OK, you two can eat now if you like, you deserve it. If Shadestar has a problem, tell him I've ordered you to eat!" she smiled. Scarletpaw nodded in thanks and silently padded to the fresh-kill hole. She picked out two mice, one for her and one for Blackpaw.

Moonfur fell asleep...

She yawned. Moonfur looked at the stary sky. She recognised the place but only vaguely. Then it twigged! It was the place Dusktail used to take her when they were young warriors. It was down the other end of ForestClan river, nearly outside the territory. Suddenly a glittering, handsome StarClan cat rushed out of the bushes and playfully knocking Moonfur over. She gasped, not in pain, in releif. "I thought you'd never speak with me again!" she got up and licked Dusktail around the muzzle. Dusktail purred. "I thought StarClan would never let me! I came to tell you something though..." he trailed off, still gazing into his mate's eyes happily. "What is it?" Moonfur asked worriedly. "I know you won't know it but..you're pregnant with our kits! I'll tell Dappleleaf if you want or do you want to tell her? It's a good idea you stay in the med-den until your badger wounds are COMPLETELY gone," he mewed licking his mate proudly. Moonfur purred. "I wondered why I felt so tired all the time! I'll tell Dappleleaf. Oh this is wonderful!" she purred louder. Dusktail started to fade. "I have to go now. By y love..." he faded to nothing as Moonfur woke up, Dappleleaf pressing a cobweb into her flank.
