He opened his eyes sleepily, looking around camp. He felt horrible. He was breathing a bit better now, although his breaths were still rather ragged. He blinked a few times before adjusting to the light, grunting. "What's going on..?" He asked in a tired, half-hearted tone. "I don't remember anything.." But then he remembered running away from Whistlesong and Lightpaw. His heart fell, his cheeks growing slightly red. Oh yeah. StarClan, I'm such a mouse-brain! Why did I do that? Why?

Whistlesong looked at him with concern in her eyes. "Why did you run to the river?" she asked, sighing. She looked around. "Grr...Shyshadow isn't here. Not Deadpaw either!" She sighed.

Brightpaw looked over at Cottontail and Frostpaw, overhearing the plans to go train. He smiled and bounced over to them. "Can I come?" he asked eagerly.

He smiled. "Great catch also." (Time skip uvu) He yawned softly, collecting his pile of prey from his small hole he had buried earlier. "Back to camp?" He asked Kestrelflight, before picking up as much prey as he could carry in his jaws.

Kestrelflight -- the ginger she-cat nodded. "Of course," she mewed, bounding over to the hole where the two cats had buried their prey away at. She picked up the squirrel that she had caught earlier, and also managed to collect two mice and a blackbird into her jaws. With the mice dangling from her mouth by their tails, she probably looked rather odd. "C'mon," she said, trotting back towards the camp entrance, which wasn't too far off.

Deadpaw nodded a couple of times as he followed them over. "Yep" he purred. "But are we going to try and find them by the river, Shyshadow?" he questioned with a slight frown. The last time he had been around the river the place was still quite frozen and crossing to the other side was easy because of the ice, but now he guessed the ice would be melting down, making it hard and dangerous to cross over to the other side.

Shyshadow shook his head. "No," he meowed. "Around now I imagine the river is a bit too flooded and dangerous for that. We can fetch some more from there, if needed, once the levels are normal." His tail flicked a bit.

Her gaze flicking between the medicine cat and his apprentice, Mistpetal listened silently, waiting with patience for them to properly begin their journey.

He tried to speak, but he couldn't find the right words. ""I-I'm sorry.." He mumbled, looking away. "It's just that I... Actually kind of, um, like you.. And I was nervous. I'm so mouse-brained.." His heart thumped in his chest as he confessed her feelings towards her.

"I agree. The river would be a bad choice right now," Tigerfoot said with a nod, flicking his tail. "So, flower valley it is, then." The deputy said with a pleased grin, stretching out. "Ohh, maybe if the sun isn't covered by the clouds by the time we get there, we could lay on the stones!" The tom suggested childishly, a purr in his tone as he imagined the smooth, wide stones laying out in the sun, heating up in the warm rays. Plus, Deadpaw probably hadn't been able to sunbathe on them before, considering he only became an apprentice a moon ago. It might be fun for the young tom.

Adderfur's expression vanished, as if he no longer wore emotions. Licking one paw briefly, the tom swiped at the tree, eyes narrowed into small, amber slits. He put all of his determination into clawing the heck out of the tree, not stopping even once to take a breath as a familiar someone flashed through his mind. He continued slicing at the 'opponent' until his hatred faded off, only to stand still, examining his work with a hard glare. A storm of claw marks lined the tree's trunk, some deeper than others, some barely visible in the bark. He hissed under his breath, lips pulling up to reveal a set of sharpened fangs. He slowly sank to the ground, allowing his head to fall against the marred wood in defeat.
"I've worked so much harder than him.. Why can't I beat him..?"

Lightpaw's mouth hung agape. That was why he was acting weird on the patrol? "W-wahh! How cute!" She squeaked, bouncing for a second before freezing, a small paw coming upwards to slap her own muzzle. "O-oh. Woops! I'll leave you two for a bit; umm.. G-good luck, Wolfheart!" She purred, rubbing her muzzle affectionately against her mentor's wet cheek, before skipping off to do who knows what. So that was love. She'd never experienced anything containing 'like' or 'love,' but it did make cats act really cute and nervous, so.. It couldn't be bad, right?
