Moon Lake

Moon Lake scented a nearby squirrel. Her face lit up and she quickly scrambled up a tree. She hopped from branch to branch until she found herself directly above the prey. Moon then dropped down into the unsuspecting squirrel like a wingless owl. She held it up in success.

Splashpaw chuffed and scratched at the ground, "They won't care so what's the point. Mom's a deceptive cheater and dad's practically nonexistent." He said with a sharpened edge to his voice but sadness faintly traceable in his tones.

Cinder picked up his mouse as well. "I'm not sure what is beyond the field. I think maybe a creek and a mountain of some sort." He sniffed the air but could only perceive the prey below his nose.

Splashpaw nodded and he continued to walk, "I like the idea of the creek. Maybe we can catch a fish or find something looking for water." He said with a thoughtful hum as he carried the mouse in his muzzle.

"Ooh fish. Slippery stuff they are. Taste all right past the scales. Maybe some squirrels will come down for a drink." This was best case scenario. He was horrible at squirrel hunting and awful at fish. Cinder Birch buried his mouse under a large dead tree.
