Sandstorm slept in the warriors den. Her tail flicked gently as she slept. Suddenly, her ears perked. The sound of her mate, Firestar's, voice, was speaking to Leafpool. Sandstorm opened her eyes and stretched, then padded out into the clearing. She padded up to Highledge to Leafpool and Firestar. "Good morning, Leafpool." Sandstorm kindly said, then turned to Firestar. "Would you need a hunting or patrol to go out? I'd be happy to go with." she meowed to him.

FireStar watched LeafPool leave and smiled at SandStorm. "Yea. I need you to Lead the Patrol and Remark all the Borders. I want to make it very clear to ShadowClan that I won't allow them to take any of the Territory." He rubbed his nose along her cheek and lifted his chin. "BrambleClaw! Take SquirrelFlight and LionKit out for Hunting Patrol." He turned to SandStorm again. "Me and Brightheart will come with you for Evening Patrol." He looked around for Brightheart. "Brightheart! Come with me and SandStorm for Evening Patrol!" He jumped down from HighLedge and bounded into the Forest.

BrambleClaw nodded to FireStar and looked around for SquirrelFlight. "SquirrelFlight, come with me and LionKit for Hunting Patrol." He called out to her.

LionKit bounded to BrambleClaw, tail raised in excitement. "I get to come?" He cried. "Yes! Finally!" He smiled and stepped from paw to paw to keep from running into the Forest without his Parents.

Squirellflight

"A-Are you sure it's safe for him to come?" Squirellflight stuttered to Firestar looking down at her kit.

BrightHeart

Brightheart raced up to Firestar panting. "Sorry," she huffed. "I was in the dirtplace."

Firestar looked at his Daughter and nodded. "Of course I'm sure! Go on!" He looked at Brightheart and nodded. "It's fine. Come on. I want to make sure ShadowClan isn't trying to push the Borders to the Limit." He padded into the Forest, looking back to make sure his Mate and Brightheart were following.

Lionkit looked at SquirrelFlight and bounced up. "Let's go!" He pranced into the Forest in a different Direction than FireStar and the others.

Brambleclaw looked at his Mate, then his Kit and rolled his eyes. He rubbed his nose against her cheek and padded after LionKit.

Squirellflight

Squirellflight sighed and followed Brambleclaw outof camp, still uneasy. She purred as Brambleclaw rubbed his muzzle on her cheek.

Brightheart

Brightheart pulsed with embarresment and followed her leader out of camp and up the slope.

It's okay. I have to go for the Day in a few Minutes, so this is my last Post.

Firestar looked back at Brightheart and narrowed his eyes. "I think it's time you got an Apprentice, Brightheart." He showed no indication of who he would give her as an Apprentice.

Brambleclaw purred as well and smiled. He stopped, and rubbed his tail over Lionkit's shoulder to stop him. 2 Tail-Lengths ahead a leaf rustled. Brambleclaw nudged Lionkit, telling him this was his Prey to catch.

Lionkit smiled at his dad and crouched down. He put his tail near the ground and inched forward. The leaf stopped rustling, and a heartbeat later a Shrew shot out from under it. Before it could get far, Lionkit trapped it in his paws and killed it with a swift blow to the head. He picked it up gently in his jaws triumphantly and carried it back to his Parents. "I caught it!" He cried, his voice muffled by the Shrew.

Squirellflight

Squirellflight smiled at her sons first catch. "Not even trained and youre already feeding your clan," she purred proudly.

Lionkit smiled and held his chin up high. "I've been practicing with Hollykit and Jaykit! We practice on leaves when it is really windy." He said, still smiling. He dropped the vole at his mothers feet and smiled again.

Brambleclaw smiled at Lionkit, then his mate. "Let's go and find a few more prey and then head back to Camp." He siad, already padding away.

SquirellFlight

Squirellflight nuzzled her kit in congragilations. "Come on," she whispered, nudging him along. They quickly buried her sons catch and bounded after Brambleclaw. The trees were rattling together, and the leaves whispered their secrets to each other. Squirellflight closed her eyes and let the warm breeze it her face. She remembered how her mother used to tell her the wind spirits were telling stories to the trees when they rustled like that. Her pelt stood on end when she realized she could hear actual speaking. She opened her eyes and turned her face toward the windlclan border. "Brambleclaw," she whispered.

Brightheart

Brightheart sniffed along the Shadowclan border. "No problem here!" she called. A slight breeze tickled her scars and she frowned remembering the dogs that had given her them and killed her best friend, SwiftPaw.
