Aira quickened her pace, the meeting was going to start any second, and if she was late again, she'd be demoted instead of promoted by her superior. It was then that she spotted another figure moving from the corner of her eye. 'Guards!' her mind screamed as she looked around for a place to hide. Spotting one of those cloth covered gazebos on the roof, she quickly jumped into it, praying that the guard would go away so that she could still catch up with the meeting. Sneaking a peek from underneath the tarp that was covering the roof structure, she glared at the templar, as if her mind could make him walk faster.

((And I was joking about above statement - I don't really mind. ^.^))

{[ Thank God. I actually thought you were being serious for a second there. XD ]}

When the figure seemed to disappear from sight, Alix frowned mildly but tilted his head forwards as he continued to move, guessing the assassin was further ahead of him. His body was slightly bent forwards and he was in a partial crouch as he skimmed the roofs as fast as possible.
"You there!"
The voice had Alix freexing momentarily and he turned his head slightly, his hood concealing part of his view but he could see enough of the guard to know it was a Templar. His muscles tensed as he straightened up, the figure moving closer to him.
"You shouldn't be up- Wait, you look familiar..."
And it was that insentive that drove Alix forwards, his hood pressing against his forehead as he leapt into the air. With a clever flick of his frist, the blade slide from its sheeth and, with a jab downwards, sliced into the guards neck. The Templar made a gargling noise but almost instantly fell limp in his hands. He knew it was an unneccassary kill but Alix quietly stroked the guards face, closing his eyes carefully and muttering a few last words, before his attention returned his earlier mission. He manouvered the body carefully so that it rested behind a chimney and out of sight before he continued his quiet sprint across the roof tops.

Aira was watching, and she saw how a fellow assassin, well, assassinated the guard. 'Now, why didn't I think of that?' she thought before sending a prayer up for the guard's soul. Jumping out of her hiding spot, she continued running until she eventually came across the netted entrance of the Assassin's Bureau. Looking around to make sure that no guards had seen her, she jumped down and walked to the meeting room, praying that she wasn't late just yet.

It wasn't long till Alexis reached the familiar netted roof of their Assassin's Bureau. Using his hands to manouver himself, he gripped the edge of the netting and slid into the entry way. Landing lithely in the entrance corridor, Alix could faintly hear other voices behind the thick oak door at the end of the corridor. He sincerly hoped he was not late for fear of what his superiors may think; tardiness was frowned upon greatly. Apparently.
He withdrew his hood from his head and, on hearing a faint and light thud behind him, Alix glanced over his shoulder as he walked. He nodded slightly at the assassin before he reached the door and cautiously pulled it open. The room was dimly lit with several candles and was quite sparse despite its size. In the centre of the room was a large huddle of robed figures much like himself. "Buenas noches," Alix said in a low tone, noticing how most of the attention had moved to him. The expression on his superiors face proved his thoughts. He was late.

When Aira spotted the other assassin that came in through the doorway, she nearly sighed in relief - looks like she wasn't the only late one. Instead of replying to his greeting, she kept silent instead, deciding not to aggravate their superiors even further.
"You are late, Alix," one of the older men remarked from the center of the circle. "As are you, Aiden," he added, turning to glance at her from the corner of his eye.
Bowing her head to show repentance, Aira waited for the verdict - she just hoped that it wouldn't affect her chances of getting promoted.

Alix half wished he'd kept his hood up. At least then the cowl of his hood would've hidden the slight embarressment on his face. The worst part of all this was that, unlike Aiden, it wasn't his first time to appear late to meeting.
He lowered his head a little in a similar way that Aiden had lowered hers but he knew he had to think up some form of apology or reason for his tardiness. But, to be honest, other than the truth of where he had been - up on the top of a watch-tower watching the night - he had no other reason. Then he remembered the guard. "Sorry, mi señor. We encountered a little trouble on the way," he said, trying to cover up not just his own tracks but Aiden's also.

Aira was shocked. This assassin she had barely met was covering for her? Deciding to help out, she voiced out her thoughts. "Si, mi signor - we encountered a guard on the way here, and he seemed to recognize us - I suspect that he is one of them," she answered, remembering to lower the tone of her voice - she couldn't give away her true identity - not yet, at least.
She was telling the truth, anyways. Despite the fact that she hadn't been seen, she had been listening. Needless to say, she was shocked to find out that the guard recognized the other male - Alix. That only meant one thing. The Templars were mixing in with the guards and trying to locate their main base.

Alix was just thankful that the other assassin went along with it. He normally didn't try to save a fellow assassin's back so readily, despite that being a necessity to their Order, he just felt the need to scrap up their tracks just this once. Next time, the other assassin would have to do it themselves.
When Aiden mentioned that the guard was most likely one of them, the superiors looked at eachother with that similar look of knowledge that they often wore when they knew something was afoot. "I see," one of the elder Assassins' said. Then they seemed to consult with eachother and Alix let out a strained sigh under his breath, his head lowering slightly as his hands clasped over his lap. Whatever the guards were up to, whatever the Templars were up to, it was never a good thing.
