Gwen looked back at Jake. She smiled at him. She had an idea. Gwen would make Jake fal in love with her by the end of the month. That would be her goal.
I am a closed book. I don't trust you and I don't trust me. I need a little room to breathe, you're making this hard for me, when all I need is to be set free. I need a little time to think, and if you ever will love me then all I need is a little room to breathe. I've been through and seen a lot, left at the bottom and the top. We're on borrowed time, but time isn't enough, I'm just trying to be the best I can be. When I fall down, it's just me and the ground.

Jake dropped his gaze when she looked back, his smile wiped off almost instantly. He felt a moment of disgust at her, and his stomach flipped again, and his hands clenched.

Gwen knew she had alot work to do but she could do it. She started to slow down and motioned for Jake to ride beside her.

Jake clenched his jaw, and slowed, comnig up next ot her. He sat straight and stared ahead, his lip throbbing.

Gwen rode up to the stables and slid off her horse. She led him inside and gave his halter to one of the stable boys. Then Gwen walked to the house got a rag with ice and came back out and handed it to Jake. "Put this on"

JAke gave his horse a pat, and waited, and took it. "I said I'm fine," he said, but did as he was told, and pressed it to his lip. He winced, but that was all. "Shall I put the horses away?" he asked.
