Renee sighed and looked out at the view of the Capitol, beyond the balcony.

"If only, if only," she choked.

Nick

"Yeah," Nick said sighing. "well, thanks again. I'm going to bed. Good luck tomorrow, and uh, rest well." Nick added, walking away and eventually disappearing.

Renee
"Good luck," she whispered worriedly, and lay her head on the balcony. Her eyes dripped rapidly. She finally got up, went to her room, washed her face, and went to sleep in her clothes. She stayed up for two hours worrying, but finally fell asleep. She had a dream...

~Renee's dream~
"You may now kiss the bride!" the plump priest announced happily. Renee leaned forward, blushing, and kissed her husband. She pulled away, and saw that surprisingly, he didn't have a face. He had a head... But no eyes, nose, mouth, etc... The scene faded, and she stood in front of a mirror with her husband. They were in a past arena used for the Hunger Games, and her face... melted away. She woke up screaming, and crying.

Timeskip to morning...

"5, 4, 3, 2, 1"

Ember

Ember leaps off her thing and runs toward a bow and a set of a dozen arrows. Then she dodged a knife and leaped for a backpack. Then she dashed into the woods, not stopping.

Penelope

Penelope ran as fast as she could. She did some front flips gracefully as she darted darts, and grabbed a sleeping bag with a canteen rolled inside. Then she ran into the woods, with only a cut on her right hand from a dart.

Ashley

Ashley ran off. Tripping while grabbing for a canteen, she was splattered with blood from Aubrey. She then noticed it came from her know slitted throat. She's my age. Am I next? Ashley thought as she ran into the forest. Her face was now covered in Aubrey's blood and so was her right hand.

Kendall

Kendall smirked as she slit Aubrey's throat with one of new knifes. She was weak anyway. She thought as she turned and ran up behind Skylar, who was paused in front of Ace. Then, Kendall wiped out another knife and dug it into Skylar's back. She heard Skylar's ear-piercing scream as she then ran off, grabbing a back pack, and then into the woods for anymore people. Two down, the rest to go. Kendall thought blissfully as she wiped Skylar and Aubrey's blood off some knifes.

Skylar

((before she was stabbed)) Skylar looked blankly at Ace, a spear in her hand. Then her back hurt with thousands of painful zaps. She then fell to the ground, her hands covering her wound, screaming out. This can't be it. This couldn't have happened. I was supposed to last longer. I was supposed to make it. She thought in despair as she took one last look at the world....and Ace.

Derek

"No! Mae! Look out!" Derek screamed, as he jumped in front of Mae, and a knife in mid-air. He closed his eyes antisipating the feeling of how it would feel to die. Then the knife inserted into himself, and he fell down, pale in the face, as he screamed out one last thing, "Go!" To Mae, as his hand extended.

Josh

Josh ran toward a backpack and a spear from his other fellow career, Skylar's now-pale-hand. Then he ran towards where the other Careers described to meet, and waited.

James

James ran as fast as he could toward a big backpack to share with Paige and then waved, to her to run over to his direction in the forest.

Zack

Zack ran (cute-like in his opinion), winking at hidden cameras, and grabbed a sword. He thrust it around, smacking Hazel on the cheek, making her fall, but get away.

Hazel

Once Hazel was back on her feet after Zack's attack, she dodged a few things and looked around for Jay. Then, her brain shut down. No. She thought as ran, still looking back behind her. Then, she collapsed on the ground in the woods. All she had with her was a small backpack and a spear for protection. In her bag was a canteen, and some dried beef. This, was enough. She had nothing left anyway, not anymore...or at least that's how it felt.

Nick

Nick ran over toward a medium-sized backpack and ran into the woods.

"5, 4, 3, 2, 1"

Renee
The words blared in her ears. Her feet were flying as she raced to the forest. She stopped for a moment, and picked up a backpack. She could check what was in it later. She also picked up a knife and some rope, narrowly dodging an attack from a black-haired boy, who looked well-fed. A career. She jumped out of his reach, and barely tripped. She ran again, this time no one could catch her. Suddenly, she tripped over a log. She cursed in her head for making such a noise, when she heard another set of breathing. She slowly brought up her head, and accepted her death when she saw an arrow pointing straight at her face, the bow in the hands of a fierce-looking redheaded girl.
Liam
Liam ran towards the Cornucopia. He ran from two killers, and grabbed a knife, a spear, and a canteen. He also picked up a backpack. Then he ran to the forest, and climbed up a tree to escape. He was a bit bulky, but he went up high enough to avoid killers... if they didn't have bows.
Aubrey
Aubrey screamed shrilly, and it pierced the air. Her short life flashed before her eyes... she hadn't even fallen in love yet, and now her life had been ended by the swift slit of a blade. Only one tear slipped out of the corner of right eye as she felt the warm blood drip down her neck. As Kendall released her hold on Aubrey, she fell to the ground, and was stepped on by two people. She coughed one final time, and closed her eyes, plummeting into... eternal... darkness...
Jasper
Jasper ran into the forest, and he heard the short, familiar breathing of Ashley. He stopped, and he saw her running. "Ashley!" He ran after her again, until she stopped. "Ashley!" he huffed. "Alliance? Wait- who's blood is that?!" he asked worriedly.
Ace
"Skylar!" he screamed. He ran toward her, and picked her up bridal style, and glared at Josh, who had stolen her spear. He carried her far away from other people, little did he know she was dead already, but he set her down. He pumped CPR on her chest, and turned her over to apply pressure to her wound. "Skylar... no! It shouldn't have ended like this!" he screamed. He slumped over her body, and stayed silent, hoping he wouldn't have a similar fate during his mourning. He didn't care about meeting up with the other careers.
Star
Star quickly grabbed a knife. She saw a girl who looked painfully familiar. She looked... like her. When she was younger. Her innocent face... She hated this girl. She had to die. She reared back her hand and threw the blade as hard as she could, but she didn't realize that Derek would jump in front of the girl. After he fell to the ground and the girl ran, Star herself escaped to the career's meeting place.
Mae
"Derek!" she cried. She couldn't bear to be near his body... She glanced up briefly and caught a glimpse of his killer, and hatred flared in her. She turned and ran, grabbing a sleeping bag, a canteen, and a bundle of five spears. She ran into the forest, where too many tributes had already retreated, and she climbed nimbly up a tree, almost all the way to the top. She panted, and had a moment of silence for Derek...
Paige
Paige gulped, and then chased after James, dodging an attack. She was panting, but glad to be alive. She would never be the same after that bloodbath. It wasn't the same on TV; it was so... distant there...
Ryan
Ryan grinned at a blonde boy evilly, and picked up a knife. He pounced on him, and stabbed him in the back. He laughed, and stabbed him once more. He wiped his knife on his shirt, stole his backpack, and jumped up and ran to the career meeting place.
Jay
Jay looked around, and met eyes with a boy grinning, that, if he'd lived, would haunt him for the rest of his life. He grunted and got the breath knocked out of him as he fell to the ground, face first. He broke a rib, and it felt like every pain receptor in his body was exploding inside him. He closed his eyes, and thought of happy things, for the next few seconds, before he took his final, shaky breath.

Ember

Ember gasped. She couldn't do it. She put her bow and arrow down and stared at Renee. The only thing she could manage to say was, "Alliance?" She extended her hand and pulled her up.

Penelope

Penelope unrolled her sleeping bag and saw inside was a canteen. Also, a bungey cord held the sleeping bag in the rolled up position. Now she could secure herself when she would sleep in a near by tree but for now, she needed to find water. She ran off in search of another source of water.

Ashley

Ashley nodded, a bit out of breathe, especially after what she just saw. "Some is Aubrey's. It splattered on me. And some is mine, I hit my head on a rock when I tripped." Ashley explained, pulling up some hair on her left, to show Jasper.

Josh

"Where's Ace and Ember?" Josh asked Star.

James

"I'm glad your okay." James said, relief in his voice as he put his fingers through Paige's blonde hair.

Hazel

Jay. She thought, as she ripped grass from the ground. That's it. I have to kill him. Hazel said as she ran back to the Cornicopia and grabbed what was left, which was really nothing good. Rope, 3 darts, and a bloody knife. Then she retreated back into the woods .

Zack

Zack stood tall and ran toward where he saw some Careers head. "I want in!" Zack demanded.

Nick

Nick ran around in the woods, uncertain what to do. He opened his pack, to find a thick jacket, a canteen, crackers, and a couple poisonous darts. He knew they were poisonous because he remembered how to tell the difference back at his school. Back when he had a chance. A life. A chance.

Renee
"Thanks, yeah," she said gratefully. "I thought I was done for. Hey hold on, lemme check what's in this bag." She unzipped it and grinned. She pulled out the bow, and slid the quiver onto her back. "This is a surprise," she said.
Liam
Liam stood in the tree, peering dow, ready to throw a knife at whomever was stupid enough to pass below him.
Jasper
Jasper moved his hand, and put down Ashley's. "Don't show me, telling me is enough," he said. "Come on, we need to find a safe place." He shrugged on his backpack tighter and walked slowly away, expecting her to follow. "We'll patch you up then."
Star
"Ace ran somewhere with Skylar. You know that Ember was talking about going off on her ow-" She stopped when she saw Zack. "Get out of here," she scowled. "Or I'll kill you. We don't need your weak-" she was interrupted by Ryan.
Ryan
"NO NEED FOR PROFANITY!" he shouted. "We're on TV!"
Star
Star scowled and rolled her eyes.
Paige
She held close to James, and as she spoke her voice broke. "James, I don't want to do this... I'm going to die..." She sobbed on his shoulder.

Ember
"Are you good at archery?" Ember asked as she opened her own backpack. Inside, she had some wire, a blanket, socks, canteen, and dried bits of berries. "I have no clue how I'm going to use this wire. I suck at traps." Ember added, as she zipped her bag back up.
Ashley
Ashley followed silently, holding her hand on her wound.
Zack
"I. Want. In. Or else, I will kill you." Threatened Zack, holding up his sword.
Cody
Cody hobbled along the Cornicopia, he was last. He grabbed the last large backpack and left into the woods, only to end up underneath Liam. Quickly, he ran out of the way and dodged a knife that was aimed at his forehead.
James
"No you won't. I'll make sure of that." James said quietly.
Kendall
Kendall followed Finn out of the Cornicopia in a fast stride. Gripping a knife, she threw, aiming at Finn's left leg. She wanted to wound him, then torture him, and kill him.

Renee
"Yeah, I'm pretty good," she admitted. She looked at Ember's wire. "Maybe we can use it for something else, or we could find another trap, hopefully set off, and we could base it off of that," she suggested.
Star
Star scowled at Zack. "Put that down, or I kill you." She turned her head to the other careers and motioned to Zack. "Well?"
Ryan
"Well, he certainly seems better than he should for someone of his district," Ryan pointed out, but he was standing a bit away from Star and her flaring nostrils.
Liam
Liam heard dead leaves, and saw a head. He reared back his knife and threw, aiming for his head. His hand cramped as he waited to see if he hit and killed anyone.
Paige
Paige sniffled. "Th-thank you?" she smiled.
Finn
Finn fell and groaned. "Kendall!" he screamed angrily, and clutched his leg. He let go and tried to stand up, and he wobbled, and tried to limp away, breathing hard.

Ember
"Okay," Ember said as she stood up. "Let's go try to find water first though." Ember added, pulling out a canteen
Cody
Cody snorted and shouted, "I'm still alive fool!" (egg) Then he ran away even furthur.
Josh
"I think it'd be okay, we do need another person since you can't count on Ace coming back probably," Josh said as he changed his position of holding his backpack.
Zack
"So that your done with your little tea partly conversation, let's go find some people to kill." Zack said as he grabbed a better hold on his spears.
James
"Your welcome, doll-face." James said. "Oh no! It's the careers! Run beautiful red-ear!" James screamed as he grabbed for Paige's arm, and ran.
Nick
I like unicorns. Nick thought randomly. Oh, what am I to do! I need a magical unicorn! Nick thought again as he held a poisonous dart in his hand.
Hazel
Hazel ran through the forest, in search for Ryan. Then, when she tripped and fell, she turned and saw a red-ish haired girl. Heather. Hazel thought as she held up a spear for protection, but then dropped it. She saw the girl's alarm on her face and then matched it to her own. "I don't want to kill you. Why don't we just pretend we never saw each other?" Hazel said as she stood back up and extended a hand to shake for a pact.
Penelope
Finally, Penelope reached a stream of water and dropped her canteen in it. She then held it up to her mouth and took a deep gulp. This is one of the best waters ever. Penelope thought as she took another gulp and retreaved more water to fill her canteen.
Kendall
"What?! This is a fight to the death! Don't you know that?! Well, don't worry, you won't last long, I'll make sure of it." Kendall yelled as she grabbed her only poisonous dart. Then when she grabbed Finn by the neck, she stabbed it in his throat. It would take about ten minutes for the poison to spread, so she got to have a little more fun with this. She started a fire quickly and put Finn's foot in it, knowing the dart's also paralyzed the victims. She sat his torso up, in sitting position and seethed, "This is what you get!" Then she took his arm, grabbing her knife, she wrote, Victim #3 of Kendall. Pleased, she grabbed the other arm and carved, Favorite victim to kill of Kendall's. Ignoring his screaming she sneered, "Shut up!" But in French. "Got anything else to say?" Kendall asked as she cut his other cheek. Then she took his foot out of the fire, so he wouldn't die just yet.
