Jax listened to his story, then nodded as he said he basically got in off a scholarship, that's what he had thought. A teen with talent like his could go far in life. He could go almost anywhere he wanted, do anything he wanted. He was truly talented, unlike Jax. He sighed when Luka asked him about himself and the reason he was here. Finally after a long silence Jax looked up, "Would you believe me if I told you I was living on the streets before I came here?" he questioned, willing to continue if Luka did believe him. His mind was running like a race horse over years of memories, years of memories of him living on the streets....alone. By his looks Almost no one could tell that he had lived on the streets for over half of his life, he looked like a city teen. And in some way he was, he just lived on the 'wild side' of the city.

Luka couldn't help but tilt his head in slight confusion at the question, thinking over the question in his head. He crossed his arms over the table and rested his chin on them, deciding to shoot Jax a smile. "I can be gullible when I want." He let the other with a joking wink, a creative way of saying 'yes'. "Plus, you don't exactly have a reason to lie to me." He added, giving what he could of a small shrug given his current position. Once he finished talking he looked up expectantly at Jax.

Jax leaned back in his seat, "I did live on the streets before I came here...for nine years." he said with a sigh but his eyes showed he wasn't embarrassed to admit it. "My mom died when I was really little, my dad was a drunk. Only day he left me at a park and told me 'I'm just running to the store boy'....he never came back. I lived there for a while, then went somewhere else, and have been living on the streets since then. The only reason I'm here is that dancing was the only good thing in my life...the only think I really cared about. A few weeks back one of the teachers from this school saw me dancing, she had no idea who I was or where I came from, but she offered me a chance to come. I auditioned and got in but I have certain rules I have to follow, for example, I fail a dance test. I'm gone. Its that simple." he explained. "Thats why making one mistake means so much to me...because that one mistake could ruin the one shot I have at finally being someone."

Luka's mouth opened ever so slightly as he listened to Jax's story. After hearing the strange question, he'd been expecting something interesting, but not exactly that. He honestly had to say he was a bit surprised, but at the same time happy that Jax had gotten this chance. "Well she didn't make a bad choice, you deserve this. I've only known you for a little while now, but I can tell." He assured Jax with a small sparkle in his eye. He always found people like this inspiring. "If you ever want I'll help you out with any issues you have with dances. I'd hate to see you go." He added, finding the regulations a bit harsh. Then again, scholarship students had to maintain high performance themselves, though they all had people and places to fall back on if they got kicked out of the school. Jax however, by the sound of his story, didn't. He wished the school would lighten up sometimes.

[center]Jax glanced down at his papers before leaning forward and spreading them out in front of him and Luka, "I need help with this." he said pointing at the scribbled drawing. "For some reason I just can't do that movement, no matter how hard I try. I've tried changing it for something I know I can do but it just does look right in this dance, this is the only movement that suites it." he explained with a small smile, thankful for his offer to help. "I would change my routine to something I also know but I don't have enough time to memorize it. I have another test tomorrow." he whispered thinking. after a few seconds he looked up "Thank you..." he whispered "Thank you for not ignoring me like everyone else does.."

Luka looked down and studied the papers, gazing to the move Jax claimed to have issues with. He chewed on his lip gently while he looked at it hard. He looked at the moves before it as well as after to see if he could catch something. Jax's quiet words broke his concentration and he realized that he was being thanked. He reached up and ruffled the other's hair quickly. "It's no big deal. I could also thank you- for not making some gay jokes about me after I danced like most of the guys here do." He spoke, wearing a smile even during the latter part of the sentence. It was true, they did every so often. Even if he was gay, it still pissed him off. He looked back down at the drawings and noticed something only a moment after. "Oh!" He exclaimed, expression turning into one of excitement. "I think this might work. So, you know the move before it? If you switched that foot just a bit- to right there, it would put you off to a better start on the move you have trouble on. I think that'll make a difference in the flow of it." He informed Jax, feeling like he had solved something like the Jack the Ripper case.

Jax smiled slightly to himself when Luka commented on him being gay, he guess he couldn't tell that Jax was too yet. But that was all washed away when Luka spotted a way to fix it...
Jax looked it over, picturing the movement with the changes. It would work. "Wow. Now I feel like an idiot." Jax whispered to himself in amazement. He had run over every detail of this dance, down to the way his muscles reacted to each step, yet he had missed something as simple as changing the way he placed his foot! "That's what happens when you teach yourself to dance!" He exclaimed "thanks so much!" he said with a nod, pulling out a pencil and writing some more messy notes. He hoped Luka didn't look down at his writing...it wasn't writing. He couldn't write.
"Geez, that is so stupid...." he whispered but smiled. "I can't believe I missed that.". He took his papers and put them back in his bag, with a sigh of relief. "You have no idea how thankful I am right now..." he said with a nod of thanks to Luka.

"No problem. Sometimes when you're so focused on something it's easy to miss small details." Luka commented like some wise old man. That was why he usually confronted others about problems he had dancing if he started over thinking everything. Luckily there was no need for that too often these days. Lucky for Jax, while he was scribbling down notes, Luka had re-absorbed himself with his apple pie, finishing off the first piece, and sugary drink to pay any mind to the writing. Once Jax spoke again Luka swallowed and gave a light laugh. “Well then, Mr. Thankful, do I get a reward?" He joked.

"What would you like?" Jax asked with a smile, "Whatever you want, its yours...well, within reason." he added with a small laugh. He took his bag and put it down on the floor beside him, clearing more room on the table. "I owe you....again." he laughed. "At this rate I might as well just dedicate my life to you!" he joked, leaning back in his seat and crossing his arms with a sigh. "I still can't believe I missed that..." he whispered his eyes thoughtful.

Luka was then silent for a moment. Truthfully he hadn't had something in mind when he had asked about a reward; it was basically just a joke. He figured now that he might just take advantage of the other's words now. And he had just thought of something as his 'repayment'. "Well, you know how there are no classes the day after tomorrow for the extended weekend thing?" He reminded Jax. It was a Wednesday, and on Friday the students were all excused from classes due to a special meeting for the entire range teachers, academic and dance. "There is also a huge sale at the mall on Friday too, all the stores. I wasn't going to go because anyone who I would go with is all tied up... and me, I don't want to go alone... so could you go with me?" He requested, his voice showing how much he desperately wished to go to the mall along with some company. "Please?" He added in a girlish, whiny voice to add to the effect.
