Jack smirked again, then stood. He set up the tent, then lit a small fire. He untied her, then shoved her into the tent. He tossed her a blanket, then zipped it closed. He sat just outside the door, making sure she wouldn't escape.
James sat there for about an hour, just silently crying. After he felt like he could cry no more, he stood, then went into the bathroom. He wiped his eyes the best he could with a washcloth, then fixed his hair. He went back into the bedroom, then began to pace. The first thing that came to his mind was his father, but it was so strange that he could have taken her in the middle of the night. He glanced at the balled up letter, knowing that Hayley would never do that. She wouldn't leave. He bit his bottom lip, then rubbed his face. He was a deep sleeper, so he wouldn't have noticed. He stood there for a few moments, in shock that he just realised what happened. He grabbed his cell phone, then dialed 911. He didn't press the send button, though. If he called, they would take Hayley back home, and him and his dad would go to jail. He clenched his fists, then flipped the phone shut, slipping it into his back pocket. He grabbed the hotel room key, then ran out the door, downstairs, and outside.

When he got outside, he flagged down a taxi, then told the driver to take him to the state park. He thought back to his father's previous victims; it was all the same. He would take them to the woods, then kill them if their parents didn't pay. If they did, he'd just kill them anyway. Just for the fun of it. The thought of Hayley, tied up and being tortured by his father made him wanna cry again, but he swallowed back the tears. When the cab was about halfway there, and on a road where nobody was around, he told the cab driver to stop. He paid him, then got out, running into the woods.
