Renji saw Byakuya look at him with half lidded eyes and he sighed to himself, relieved that his captain was okay. "Byakuya?" he asked, getting up out of his chair to go over to the bed.

Byakuya looked at renji. "Hmm?" He replied, slowly trying to sit up.

Renji didnt say anything, only threw his arms around Byakuyas neck, and buried his face into his shoulder.He shuddered, on the verge of tears.

Byakuya was surprised by renji's sudden actions but his tension died down instantly and he carefully put his arms around renji's waist and soothingly rubbed his back to try and calm his fukutaichou.

Renji whimpered into the crook of Byakuyas neck. "I was so worried..." he mumbled, holding his captain tighter. He hadnt been able to sit still since he had left the barracks. Renji had paced around in his home for a good 5 or six hours before he came down to check on Byakuya.

Byakuya held renji. "I'm sorry renji. I didn't mean to worry you." He muttered as he continued to rub renji's back soothingly. He wasn't able to rest easily without worring if renji was alright.

Renji stayed as he was for a bit, collecting himself. He sniffled silently and pulled away, sitting on the edge of Byakuyas bed.

Byakuya looked at renji. "Are you alright?" He asked softly.

"Im... fine." Renji muttered, looking away for a second as he further collected himself. He faced Byakuya after a few moments. "What about you?" he asked, referring to his wounds.

"Just a bit sore and alittle trouble breathing but that's about it." Byakuya replied, placing his hand on his chest over the wound.
