Renji waited as the healers took over, taking Byakuya from Kenpachi and rushing him over onto a bed to begin working on his wounds.

Byakuya had blacked out earlier from bloodloss. His reitsu was faint but it was still there showing he was clinging to life by just a thread. His breathing was short, ragged and labored as the healers worked quickly on trying to heal his wounds.

"So. You don't know what happened to him?" Kenpachi asked.

Renji shook his head, tearing his attention from Byakuya to look at Kenpachi. "When I found him, he was all beat up..."

"Why was he alone?" Kenpachi asked. "These arrancars were unusually powerful and cooridinated like someone told them what to do. Which means that wasn't an ordinary strike. Against the soul society ether." He added.

Renji tilted his head. "What? You mean someones coordinating all of this?" he asked, or more like demanded. Poor Kenpachi didnt know, but Renji felt like he needed answers.

"Yeah. They were ganging up on the strongest." Kenpachi said.

Renji snorted, upset.

"You've fallen for him haven't you? You really do love him. But, what do you see in him?" Kenpachi asked.

Renji gawked at Kenpachi, hearing his comment. "Wha?!" he said, not sure how Kenpachi had found out. He flushed though, and looked away. "I dont know..." he answered after a moment of silence.
