Scott sat down and thought, trying not to freak out. A woman had fallen, apparently from the sky, and had landed in the forest. First off, she should have died, but she seemed only to have blacked out. She would need medical attention, for sure. He carefully tried to shift her into a position where he could pick her up, with the intention of getting her into town to the hospital.

Alyce's thoughts were a blur of memories and pain. She could feel someones hands lifting her up, and she imagined herself being lifted back home in a tower of light. She could remember the touch of her mother's hands, and if she concentrated could almost imagine that she was home.

She was lighter than he expected, which was a good thing, since Scott wasn't exactly an athlete. He headed towards town, angling towards he nearby hospital. It wasn't long of a walk, which would be a good thing.

Alyce's eyes fluttered open and she looked around. She was being carried through the forest. She mentally checked what hurt the most, and figured that her leg was broken along with her arm, along with a couple of ribs. She held up her right arm and used her left hand to prod the bones back into place. She could feel several cuts on her back bleeding into her shirt, and a cut on her head. She could feel warm blood dripping from her wrist onto her chest, and she sighed.

Scott noticed her move, then stopped as she prodded herself with her hand. "You're awake!" he exclaimed, surprised that she was even conscious with the condition she was in.

Alyce smiled, then winced. It hurt too much to smile. "Of course I'm awake." she coughed, her voice rusty, then continued, "I couldn't exactly sleep with a broken leg." Her chest hurt, and there was blood pooling on her shirt.

[Interiu]

Scott started walking again. "I'm gonna get you to the hospital, they can help with the pain, and can set your leg."

"Ok". Alyce said, not mentioning that she would have to sneak out otherwise the doctors would figure that she was a freak of nature as she healed so fast. She lay her head back against his arm and willed the pain away.

Scott hurried her into town and toward the hospital, being as careful as he could not to jostle her. The town wasn't much busier than it had been, so there were few people, though the ones that he did pass gave him a mixture of worried, confused, and horrified looks. He ignored them and rushed her into the hospital.

Alyce saw people staring at her and the man. She saw the front door of the hospital, and cars going past. Once they got inside the hospital a nurse looked straight at them, then ushered them towards a stretcher.
