[Moonlit Dream]

Kurou jerked awake, blinking as he heard some new voices. He didn't know where he was or why, and he was confused. He shivered, and tightened his grasp on Kagu, without meaning to. Then, startled as he noticed that someone was carrying him, he looked around, head lolling deliriously, eyes glassy. Hearing a woman's voice talking, Kurou was barely able to comprehend what she said. "...Hmmm, beautiful? ...Dr.Bluebeard...? Why, is someone, like, sick?" he slurred, trying to look around but finding it difficult to do so for some reason. Mostly the fact that his vision was so clouded that he could hardly see anything.

Kagu's father bent down to look at Kurow and saw how infected his wound was. "Where has this poor boy been? His wound is infected by so many things!" He cried. Kagu shrugged. "I found him near the gates unconscious..."

Kurou grumbled under his breath, then looked up at Kagu's feaher before letting himself rest his head on the ground, or perhaps Kagu's shouldeer. He wasn't quite sure where he was at the minute. He grimaced, closing his eyes as he decided that since his vision was so blurred, it wasn't really worth keeping them open. After a while, he opened them again, getting bored of seeing nothing but darkness and trying to guess what the fuzzy shapes around him were. "In answer to your question, dude. One word; demons."

Kagu gently put him down on a cushion, then sighed. "Demons? Really, Kurow?" She asked, then heard the front door open. She turned to see her frightened mother walk in with Dr. Bluebeard, and started to explain what she thought his symptoms where.

Kurou grimaced, struggling to sit up despite the pain in his wound. "Kagu!? You don't believe me?!" he asked, sounding dismayed that his friend didn't believe him. "I'm lying here, brought back from the dead, survived having to, like, go through a wall of darkness and death, struggled all the way here from where I came ashore in Ryoshima, and yet you don't believe me?!" He grimaced. as he felt his voice rising. He looked up at Doctor Bluebeard halfheartedly, then rolled over onto his side so that he was facing away from Kagu, with a sulking grumble of "Since you've fought demons as much as I have, since you actually have powers meant to fight demons in the first place, I thought you would have believed me..." under his breath.

Kagu shook her head with a sigh. "I do believe you. What I can't believe is that you were actually fighting them again!" She yelled at him accusingly. Dr. Bluebeard bent down beside him and tried to examine his wound.

Kurou grimaced. "Fighting them!?" he asked, his voice rising even higher to a somewhat girly, very shocked tone. "Does this wound look new to you!? Do you not, like, remember where it came from!? Dude, you were there!" He gave a hoarse laugh, twisting around to face Kagu yet trying to keep still for Dr.Bluebeard. "Even if I'd wanted to fight demons, I couldn't have! Do you know why?! Because I was sprawled on the ground in the Agata forest hardly able to move, surrounded by a demon's stinking mist!"

Kagu was taken aback by his tone, and growled, spinning around and crossing her arms. With her back turned to him, she started yelling at him. "Well, sorry! I tried to forget that day, because it was the day I lost one of my best friends!" She yelled, her voice cracking a little. She wiped her eyes and started marching away with a proud "Hmph!" She stormed out the door, needing some fresh air.

Dr. Bluebeard sighed, trying to ignore the fight going on.

Kurou winced as Kagu turned her back and yelled at him, not used to being shouted at. "But... Kagu... Wait!" he started to respond to what she wass saying, but then broke off as she stormed out of the room. Kurou stretched out an arm in her direction as she did so, hand splayed, as though hoping that it would bring her back, but Kurou knew that it would not. "But... Kagu..." his voice lowered to an almost inaudible murmur, and he lowered his gaze to the ground. "That friend... Is back now..." With a moan, he rolled over onto his side, ignoring the fact that it would probably cause a problem for Dr.Bluebeard as he tried to examine Kurou's wound.

Dr. Bluebeard frowned at him, then tapped his shoulder. "Little boy, how am I supposed to help you if you keep tossing and turning?" He asked, his frown spreading as he put his hands on his hips.

Kagu walked around town, her head hanging some. She walked down a few steps, down towards the canal, and was greeted with a splash. She let out a surprised cry, and noticed a familiar pattern of orange scales. "Nanami!" she cried as the mermaid raised her head out of the water. "Hiya!" Nanami giggled, smiling. "Have you seen Kurow? I left him at the shore of Ryoshima, and I havent seen him. Only annoying villagers," she murmured, frowning. Kagu frowned. "He passed out at the gates and made me mad..." She murmured. "He's being examined by doctor Bluebeard right now..."
