In The Next Life (Me, Wormy and Were!)

Cerberus growled at Alex as he passed, watching him leave the room. Once he was gone, Javed leaned in closer to Chimere, scowling. He really didn't want to tell anyone, but he knew she would just nag him until she found out, "Fine. You really want to know? My parents think I'm possessed."

Rubbing the bridge of her nose as Alex stormed out of the room, Chimere made a mental note to talk to him later, once she had fully interrogated the newcomer. "Possessed, eh?" she asked calmly, a look of acceptance on her face. "Huh. Comparatively, that sounds about normal for what I've seen of the school. I mean, I have an unfortunate tendency to hallucinate wildly about horrible nightmare creatures; being possessed seems about on par for this place. It's pretty screwed up, really. I mean, they have freaking magic classes, for crying out loud...." Despite her relaxed appearance, though, Chimere was struggling to maintain control of her senses. There was something about this boy that was driving her darker self nuts, making it want to come out and duel this kid....

Alex grumbled under his breath as he stalked back to his lesson, about the guts of that boy and who on earth does he think he is? He didn't even have the decency to even look at Alex, and yet he flipped him off! Grumbling even more, it didn't take long for Alex to brighten up as usual as he walked... Or floated, not that Alex had noticed that yet, out into the yard and assumed the position that he had done before before a ummy near the edge of the yard. People shot Alex strange looks as he did so, but Alex paid no heed. Drawing his flute from his case and then playing a quick tune, Alex felt his insides grow smug as the dummy shattered almost instantly. Looking down, Alex jolted as he realized how far away the ground suddenly was, and upon noticing this, he gave a short yell as he fell about two metres back down onto the ground and landed with a nasty thud.

Javed scoffed, "That's nothing. I get that all the time. Side-effect of the meds." He bluffed. He didn't take the meds, and Cerberus wouldn't let him ignore her. She really looked like some type of alien, or a really sickly immortal...She didn't give off that "I'm gonna die in the blink of an eye" aura that mortals had. That Alex kid had the mortal type of aura.

"You're not mortal, are you?" Javed asked, staring at her intensely.

"No offense, but I get a feeling that you don't take those meds...." Chimere said with a half-smile, her eyes flashing an eerie red in the darkness, her braids looking suspiciously like tentacles. "And what do you mean, 'not mortal'? Like, a god? I guess that answer depends on what your definition of mortal is... And what personality you're asking."

Looking up suddenly as she heard Alex's yell from outside, she wondered what he had done to hurt himself now. Just about to go check, she heard the bell ring out overhead, and reached into her pocket for her schedule. "Huh. Looks like I've got English next... What do you have?"

((Just so you know; I don't think Kurou's aura would be that 'mortal', if you ask me. He's a doll copy of a 200 year old relatively-immortal guy from the moon, who got lazar'd off a cliff and came back in a UFO. Kurou can fly, float, and have a helicopter flute. Not to mention, he seems to have some other powers that he hasn't revealed yet, since he summoned all of Chibi's partners with the symbol of the Moon Tribe, somehow, at one point... And where does he keep all those knives? ...On second thought... Don't answer that one. He pulls them out of his *rse lol XD *shot* ...Just sayin'. :B))

Looking around him, Alex grimaced as he noticed that several peole ware staring at him and snickering, while others were pretending not to have noticed. Hastily, the boy staggered to his feet and brushed himself off, with a shaky hand returning his flute to its case. He wasn't hurt; just startled; as anyone would be if they'd randomly found themselves floating about two metres in the air and fallen. Listening as the bell went and people began to trot, chattering amongst themselves happily, towards the main building. Alex looked at his scedule. English. At least it was a normal lesson, compared to 'magic' at least... He wondered if the teacher would have managed to throw anything weird and wacky into it to make it abnormal, though...

((But he's not immortal, right? So he's still a mortal, albeit a powerful one.))

Javed ignored the girls statement about his lack of med-taking. He tipped his head and studied the girl. Her eyes were changing again, and the braids were certainly not normal..."You know, mortal. Able to die from natural causes. Usually immortal things are really powerful, like gods, so I guess I do mean a god." He said, then winced when the bell rang, loud, piercing his ears. Cerberus whined and scratched his ears as well.

Javed pulled the crumpled paper out of his pocket and unfolded it, squinting, "Me too. Do you know where it is?"

((It really depends on your definition of immortal, really. Obviously, Kurou can die of violent causes, but so can other god-like figures. *pokes Cthulhu* It's when you get into old age/diseases that the definition of immortal gets screwy...))

"Then it depends on what side of me you're asking. I'm Chimere, by the way," Chimere said with a grin, offering her taloned hand in what looked to be a very painful handshake.

"I haven't got the faintest clue about where English is, but there's a room number on the schedule. I guess we'll find out then!" Looking out of the room, the illusion that anything was out of the ordinary with Chimere's physical features vanished, although there was a lingering sense of something being horribly wrong with her mind. "Come on! Unless you would rather I leave you to flounder in the crowds while I go find Alex. Speak quickly, or forever hold your peace...."

Alex walked almost literally with his nose in his scedule, as he wasn't ken on getting lost. He checked every door that he went, occasionally muttering stuff like "where on earth is this dang room?" or "nope..." under his breath as he went. Eventually, when the corridors were already clear, he came to the right room, and pranced inside, beaming brightly and ignoring the dirty looks that the teacher and some students were goving him. "Hey, dudes!" he grinned, winking at some of the girls and waving at the teacher. "Kinda got lost. What'd I miss?" he grinned flirtatiously, smile dripping with persuasion. The teacher sighed, then waved her hand for him to sit down. Alex selected a seat next to a rather pretty girl, and smiled at her, but she fled and went to the back of the room, leaving the seat empty and the class snickering. Alex rolled his eyes with a smirk, winking at the girl sat opposite, who blushed and turned away. Alex smirked and turned back to the teacher, who was going down the register and calling out names, some of which seemed like the names of characters from things Alex had seen or read, others, however, seemed usual, or unusual perhaps, but Alex didn't recognize them.

((My definition of Immortal is straight and to the point; you do not die from old age. That's it. Not invincible, or with weird resistances to other things; just old age. That's the only thing counted as "natural causes."))((Lovecraft-teacher or some other teacher? I seem to remember you saying something about Lovecraft being a grammar teacher, Were.))

Javed just stared at Chimere's hand. He didn't like touching people. His version of a handshake was Cerberus sniffing the person, and the dog already did that. He stood and checked the room number on his paper, then left and vanished into the crowd, leaving Chimere behind instead of the other way around. Cerberus cleared the way in front of him, barking and growling, and sometimes snapping at other people as they rushed in front of the pair.
