Silver growled, "I'll be making that decision. We don't know anything about what's in there yet." She turned to Flare and narrowed her eyes, but dismissed his comment and walked down the hill.

Dawn seized the opportunity for a quick wash of her matted black and white fur. She lowered her head to take a few quick licks to clean her chest, then jumped up and ran after the others, seeing she was left behind. Dawn hated to see her usually clean and glossy black and white fur so gray, matted, dirty, and just downright disgusting. She wished they would stop soon. her paws felt like they were about to drop off, and she had never been so hungry. but then again, she was always hungry.
"Do you think there will be prey?" she called with a wary glance at the bright city, and the distant roar of monsters filled her ears.

Moon pricked her ears at the sound of Dawns voice. "Depends on what your definition of prey is!" She called back, chuckling softly and turning her head to the city.

Flare clenched his teeth as Sliver walked back down the hill, forcing himself not to say anything smart. Lately he'd been treated like an apprentice with a knack for wandering off and back-sassing his mother. He was eager for things to get back to the way they were, as quickly as they could at that.

Silver snorted and lashed her tail about, "No, I do not think there will be prey in there. We'll starve just as fast in there as we would out here, though, so it really doesn't matter." She growled irritably. Silver gazed out at the city, the dazzling lights reflecting in her eyes. She squinted and turned away with a sigh, "Come on." She gestured with her tail and starting walking down the hill and towards the lake. Silver looked around and found a nice shelter made by the base of the hill, where a lip of land overlooked the water. She settled down and gestured for Light to sit beside her. Silver waited patiently for the she-cat, understanding that she was probably very far gone and needed to be treated with care. Anger suddenly welled up inside of her. How could everyone let themselves go so insane? Questions cluttered around her mind and she shook them away with a flick of her ear.

Dawn sat down again when they stopped, licking a paw and rubbing it over her ears. She flicked her ears at moon, who was nearby. "Moon! come was yourself! you look like you've just been hit my a windstorm!"' she meowed, looking at moon's knotted fur.

Moon spoke in a Scottish accent, looking over to Dawn with a sharp toothed smile, "Aye, thaht it douse lassy! Joost the whay I liek it."
She began cleaning her pelt, as well as drying it from the dip she briefly took. Her piercing green eyes shot daggers towards Silver, her face dropping it's insane appearance and becoming more solemn. It was quite simple for the she-cat to play the mad man with the ridiculous hat. She had obviously pulled it off as well. It was the only way for her to truly keep her head, to give her time to think and plot and strategize without the stresses of the others worry placed in her capable paws. It also loosened the group up a bit. She'd intrude on tense moments and spew out something to crack a smile or two. On others it had a more negative effect than she hoped. She looked Silver up and down, worried.

A shadowed figure slipped through the streets, weaving it's lithe frame easily around the stocky legs of pedestrians, finding their way through the city. The shadow snaked across the pavement, keeping low. It narrowly avoided being flattened by a four-wheeled human vehicle as it reached the end of the road. The slim figure of a handsome crafty tom came into light as he strolled slowly under the streetlamp, staring out over the lake, absolutely stunning in the moonlight, the uncountable number of stars reflecting on it's surface. He came to the steep grassy ledge, sloping down to meet the waters edge. The feline shifted back into nothing but a shadow as he left the light of the streetlamp, firmly placing his paws in strategic points on the grass before sliding down, the cool moist dew soaking in between his toes. Coming to a halt as the ground grew rough like sandpaper, his eyes adjusted quickly to the absence of light and he stared across the lake, spotting the movement in the hills beyond, just at the other end. At first, he thought it might just be some of the basic alley cats, out on a stroll under the soft light of the moon, but as he looked closer he saw the strange band of foreign felines. A clever smile crossed the shady characters face, and he vanished back into the darkness.

Silver glared at Moon, "You're acting as if this whole situation is a joke. I know you realize it isn't. I know you're still there," She growled at the blue-grey cat. Silver whipped her head round to face Dawn as well, "You too! I know you've always treated things as if they were a fantasy, but we're in a dire situation right now. We're starving, our leader has gone even more insane than she was, and we're leading a whole tribe into unknown territory where we could be ambushed at any time. Haven't you wondered what became of Drake and Red after they led that attack on our camp? They abandoned and betrayed us. I knew you never should have given that whole speech about trust in the cave. Remember that fight? God, it was so long ago," She sighed and continued. "You should have killed them when you had the chance; and you had the chance. We wouldn't have lost Comet if it weren't for them. If it wasn't for you and your belief that everyone deserves a chance. They're demons, Moon," She glared at her and shifted around so that she was completely facing her. "But you're just going to say that it was his fault, right? That his hunger for revenge led him to his own destruction," Silver shook her head. "Now I'm just rambling," She turned back to Light, angrily dismissing Moon.

The she-cat silently listened to Silvers moaning and complaining. Normally the words spoken would have set Moon off, she would have jumped right in to defend her actions. She was tired. So tired. The Main Coon avoided the gaze of the silver tabby, her cold eyes staring out across the lake. She spotted movement, something stirring the shadows out at the other end of the body of water. Her companions words fading now as they grew tedious to listen to, the she-cat squinted, focusing her gaze on the disturbance of the shadows. A black figure quickly retreated back up the leaning slope, and Moon lifted her head back, curiosity creeping back into her body. She bit her lip in excitement, eyes glowing as the wonders and possibilities of all they might discover in the lively city racing through her mind.

Silver looked over at Moon and glared at her, watching as she looked around, "You didn't listen to a word I said, did you?" She growled and began to help Frost unpack herbs from her bag. "You need to get your head out of the clouds, Moon, and help out around here. I feel as if I'm the only one besides Frost that has actually done anything on our journey." She looked up at Frost. "What are you going to need out of this for our wounds?" She said in a gentler tone. Frost smiled at Silver, "Thank you for helping me, Silver. We are going to need..." She took on a face of concentration, then listed the herbs that they would need. Silver nodded and took out each one, laying them out on the rocky surface where they sat.

Moon returned to grooming herself, working at the thick knot that nestled itself behind her left foreleg. A smile played on her mouth as she listened to Silvers words.
"You would think that now wouldn't you?" She mrrowed to herself, shaking her head slightly.
Despite her efforts to remain insane to the rest of the group, she couldn't resist. When their journey seemed to come to a dead end, or when their path became narrow or tricky, she would force the group on, by running ahead or swiftly taking a different route. It wasn't easy to navigate mountains or dense forests. Of course the group could have found their own way without her gentle guiding hand, but they might have starved before reaching the city. The Maine Coon was accustomed to traveling, she did it more than she would have comforted. She made sure that the small pack avoided area's where predators were most certain to lurk.
Moon knew this city. It's name escaped her, but her path had crossed with the gleaming human place before. It was a great place if you knew where to stay and where to keep away from. The humans were friendly for the most part, and their dogs were rarely off of their leashes. This place was nearly a third home to her. The she-cat's eyes flickered with a brief pang of longing. She had met so many wonderful cats there. Oh how time passed and memories faded.
