Kendall walked down the street, her hands shoved in her pocket,a hood flipped over her head. It appeared that she was wearing headphones. She could have been anybody in the world, maybe just a normal teenager, trying to get home after staying out too late with her friends, but she wasn't a normal teen, and she didn't have any friends. At least, none her own age. You see,Kendall was an X-man. A member of an elite group of superhumans. The professor called them Homo Superior,The next stage in Human Evolution. Personally she could care less what Mr.Xavier called their kind. The news stands had it right: They were Freaks of Nature. After all,no normal person could sprout metallic spikes along their spine,or cause storms to happen with their hands,or heal from a mortal would in a matter of seconds. That was only something a mutant could do. The girl exhaled and continued her walk. Most of the people back at the school thought she wasn't worth the Professor's time since she was a second Generation Mutant,Her parents, two of the most revered heroes on the planet didn't even take time to acknowledge that she existed. Kendall clenched her hands angrily and felt the plates on her spine start to rise up.
