[Complicated game]

She looked to the ground, she would like to not be alone and he had a point. She looked up. "Alright. I've made it clear how dangerous this is and you're still being hard headed." She smiled. "So you must be one of us." She sipped a little of her tea. "At least you're armed." She said, waving her hand around. "You should keep a light pack just in case of the kings men coming. They've almost killed me in bed about two times."

Zaem's eyes lit up. "It's war, then," he said, and rose to his feet. He quickly lifted a few stacks of metal from the racks and placed them haphazardly across the windows and doors. He placed a few plain metal rods into the coals, and touched the coals on the edge, pouring heat into them. Once he was satisfied, he turned to his tools and selected two heavy-duty hammers and set them on the worktable. He moved with determination, packing rations and supplies into a backpack which he placed next to the hammers. Finally, he lifted his two-handed hammer and propped it next to the table. "Not that I'm excited or anything," he said hurriedly after he stopped, "I just like being able to do something. And if there's anything you need from metal, let me know."

Sevilen couldn't help but smile a little. "No. I use very original materials." She reached out a window and picked up a sack and a bow. The wood of the bow seemed almost green and the string looked like a brown flexible metal. "Copper. Conducts electricity. Therefore it can withstand my bolts." The hand rest was wrapped in something black. "Not sure what it is, but it withstands the bolts." She added as she ran her fingers lightly along it.

"Copper. Clever." Zaem sat down once more. "I figure I'm a blacksmith by trade, so what better than the hammers I know how to work with already." He sighed for a moment. "Are we really in this much danger?" He had gotten caught up in the moment, but now that he was settling down, he was thinking a bit more rationally. The windows and doors were blocked by various metal objects, and he had metal weapons heating up on the coals, not to mention a backpack packed with most of his food. All this over the threat of a night invasion of a small blacksmith's shop in the alleyways.

Sevilen pointed out the window at the body. "See this? Every day. Yes we are. It's fight or die." She said as she crawled out the window and shoved the body behind the fletcher. She felt sorry though. They were only men following orders. But those orders were to kill someone who had done nothing wrong. But was that true anymore? "I feel like I've lost my innocence. Like the child I was is so far gone that any hopes of not living every day like a hunted deer are out of the question. I didn't want this. But you can't choose fate." She climbed back in and barred the window. "What about your master? Won't he come and well-" She looked at her items and her feet to the door and then to Zaem.

[Interiu]

Zaem looked at her. "You can't choose your fate, you can only use what it gives you. But it isn't always bad. After all, it led you here, didn't it? And as far as my master, he said he should be back sometime tomorrow morning, but he might come back earlier, though I doubt he'd come here first. Why?" He felt like there was something he was missing, but then again, he didn't meet too many new people, and his people skills were a bit rusty.

Sevilen shook her head. "I've just been a little paranoid about people, mostly men, after all this. My mother wasn't the last to try and sell me." She admitted. "Also, the barred doors and dead man might give him an idea somethings going on." She half joked. She ran her fingers along the string of her bow again. "Even then he might get the idea I'd better be a scullery maid." She fake wreched. "Last thing I want to do. Clean dishes!"

[Interiu]

He chuckled. "I'm sure we could figure something to tell him, he'd not mind a tale of a damsel in distress, begging your pardon. Besides, I can take care of the dishes." He leaned back, letting himself be slightly comfortable. Whatever danger the night held, for the moment, he was in his shop, the coals warming the room quite nicely. He let his senses expand, changing the way he saw things. He could feel the girl's warmth, and his own, and that of the coals and metal, but nothing else. Not yet, anyway.

Sevilen was annoyed but the image of a man like Zaem doing the dishes made a grin. "Damsel in distress? For the love of rain." She chuckled. "
2000 volts can stun just about anything but if that's the story you wish to go with then be my guest. Just don't be scared if everything you touch shocks you." She said. Sevilen hated the idea of even seeming remotely Damsel like. But it was a good cover. "I'm sure your master will be quite pleased when he hears about the oh so distressed Damsel!" She said, mocking a faint. She froze when she heard a knock though and turned white. Not pale, white. White as a sheet.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone anything you don't want me to tell." Zaem heard the knock, felt the heat of a new person at the door. He lifted his hammer, heating it up. Carefully, he moved the things blocking the door and opened it. "Who is it that bothers me at this hour?" he demanded as he did so.
