"A little strict. They cared for us a lot. ...What else?" She closed her eyes and thought, "My mother had green eyes...dad had brown hair. They were pretty..." She swallowed, "They died when Celeste and I were five."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Eli said, then wondered why he was apologizing. He knew that already.

Aurora only shrugged a little, keeping he eyes closed. "I miss them sometimes..."

"I know the feeling," Eli admitted, hugging her tightly.

Aurora sighed, "We used to work for someone else...until they sold us to you," she told him.

Aurora thought, shaking her head. "He was worse..."

"Worse? how could there ever be someone worse than I am?" Eli wondered. It was obvious he felt bad for what he had done to the two girls now, to all of his servants.
