((I found out my big assignment isn't due Friday, but Monday!

I'm so happy. I still have a test to study for and all, but now I can relax a bit and post.))
In the blink of an eye, Shakra's glare disappeared as Nero confronted her. But the hardness in her bright eyes remained. She brushed herself off again. "Hm, fine then," she said as she pushed her way past him. Shakra took hold of Xara's hand as she dragged the smaller demon behind her, glancing back over her shoulder. "I'll let you be on your way. See you around." She waved halfheartedly as they rounded the corner. There was no point in talking to a demon like that, but Shakra was curious as to what he was talking about when he'd mentioned "business" and the ones he worked for.
Shakra walked so quickly down the sidewalk that Xara was nearly trotting to keep up. But Xara didn't pull away. "What are we doing now?" She asked. The other demon laughed a bit as she came to a stop. Shakra sat on a bench behind her so she was eye-level with Xara, placing her gloved hands on her shoulders. "You'll see soon enough," Shakra whispered in her ear.

"Look, just chill out, okay?" Ryan said bluntly. He was still by the couch, crossing his arms as if annoyed by what had just occurred. Well, he was a little, but he tried unsuccessfully to hide it. Dark red oozed into his carpet, and now his door would probably need repairs. But, at least the boy was up and about now.
Aleron closed the door carefully before coming into the living room. "It's all right," he said to Damion. "You're safe here." Aleron then went on to introduce himself to the human boy, and Sandra once again introduced herself and Ryan both. Ryan still stood stoically, his dark green eyes almost glaring at everyone in the room.
"Ryan, don't be so rude," Sandra whispered to him, jabbing him in the ribs with her elbow.
Ryan sighed and, lowering his arms and softening his expression--a bit anyway--he said, "Sorry. I'm just not used to house guests. This is my apartment. We live here. Alone."
Sandra smiled nervously, poking Ryan again, this time even harder to the point Ryan flinched in pain. He stepped to the side, away from her, mumbling under his breath.
Aleron looked over Damion from a distance. The boy seemed to be all right, and so Aleron first went over to Saraphina and Courtney, who were now both bleeding. "I can heal your injuries if you'd like. Please, sit down."
