Fawkes soared out side and over there heads, holding the snorting hat. She swooped down near Vera (X3)

"Look at what the great defenders are sent!" sneered Sky, the heir of Sytherin, "A song bird and mangy old hat!" Then she send a large snake after them.

The snake hissed loudly baring it's deadly fangs of doom.

Vera put the hat on her head. The had convulsed and a sword dropped on her head and knocked her out.
She woke up and grappled the sword. "I will not die!" She ran toward the snake.
(Brings back memories... :3)

The snake lunged at her.

Suddenly Fawkes swooped in ripped at the snakes eyes.

"Don't stop!" roared Sky "You may have blinded it, but it can still smell/hear you!"

Vera lunged forward, holding the sword of Gryffindor and held it before her.

The snake lunged again, that sword going though the snakes heas, but a fang dug in to Vera's arm.

Vera screeched and fell to the ground, clutching her arm. Pain surged through her body, making her eyes blurred, her vision go black.

The snakes flared around and died.

"The great hero dies," sneered Sky "It's funny how fast the venom destroys the body, It guess you have a little more than a minute to live"

Fawkes swooped down and a soft pearly tear fell from it's eyes on Vera's wound.

"The bird is crying," laughed Sky "such a sob story!"

Vera smiled and patted Fawkes' head. "You were amazing...."
She looked up. Strangely, the world didn't seem to fade away... It faded back....
She looked at her arm an gasped to find that there was no wound...

"Phoenixes," hissed Sky "Get away bird!" She raised her claws and Fawkes flew off

Vera looked up. "You... You liar!" She wrenched the basilisk fang out of her arm.
