Leah grabbed Sophie by her elbow and pulled her towards the slope. "We don't have time to wonder what it is!" She said, and released her arm and began to climb up.

Jade finally reached the top of the slope, and swung her leg over the edge. She pulled herself the rest of the way over, and stood up.

Sophie followed the older girls, holding her cat tightly while scrambling over the edge of the slope.

Sophie scrambled frantically at the slope face as she hauled herself over. standing up and taking the time to brush the mud from her robes, she ran to Jade's side.

Heather grasped Leah's hand to help drag her up the slope again and staggered backwards when she was eventually up. "Let's go!" she urged. We've probably missed the feast now! she thought, once again thinking of her next meal first.

[I'm so sorry I haven't been posting! I guess I've been busy and having writer's block.

Leah ran up into the castle, skidding to a stop at the door to the Great Hall. Looking inside, she found the hall empty. She turned to the others.
"Yep, we missed dinner." She said with a sigh, "We'd better just get up and meet with the rest of our houses."

Jade followed over to the stairs.
"Man, this stinks. We're cold, tired, hungry, I think I feel blood soaking the sleeve of my robe, we've missed the Sorting Ceremony and any important announcements, and I'm not sure how I'll even get into my House since I don't know the password.
What a great way to start the school-year, huh?"

Heather caught up and sighed. "Great.." she muttered. "I guess we're lucky the grey lady doesnt ask for a password" she commented.

Sophie groaned and caught up, lingering by Jade whilst still trying to keep control of the kitten in her arms. "I guess we'll be knocking.." she muttered.

"Or there's Professor McGonagall" Heather commented.

Jade let out a small sigh of relief, grateful that she wouldn't have to look all over the castle for Professor McGonagall to ask for the password.

Professor McGonagall walked briskly up the the girls. "Oh, there you four are. What have you been doing, wandering around the school? No one's seen you since you got off the train."

Leah began to think about what she would say. Should we tell her about the forest? Or should we keep quiet?
"We're sorry, Professor. We, uh, missed the carriages and...had to find a different way to get to the castle."

Heather nodded in agreement as she walked up to Leah's side. "And Sophie got stuck in the bog" she explained, gesturing towards the mud splattered third year.

Sophie looked at the floor embarrassedly as she tickled the young kitten under the chin to keep him calm.

Holly came down the stairs slowly, on her nightly prefect rounds meant to keep students in bed. She looked across at the bedraggled group and came up beside Professor Mcgonagall. "Problems professor?" she queried as she looked at the mud bound group.

Leah groaned under her breath, embarrassed. I'm muddy, late, and probably missed a bunch of prefect duties. Completely stupid of me. I probably seem like some un-responsible loser.
"Oh, nothing," Leah said, "Just rescuing 3rd years from the bog."

Holly laughed softly,but turned away to hide it when she received a glare from Professor Mcgonagall. "Do you want letting into the common room then?" she questioned as she turned back to face her again with a straight face.
