[[Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, I tried to make this one long.]]
"Yeah, I guess," Leah replied, "It's just, I've got this feeling that we really need to get out of here."
Leah pulled her robe around her tighter, trying to warm herself up. She felt as if they were being watched. She felt as if she needed to run all the way out of that woods, right now.
Jade followed the pawprints deeper into the forest. How did that cat get this far? And Why? She wondered.
Jade sped up and continued at a steady run. She watched as the trail of paw prints flashed along underneath her feet. The wind whipped her hair back and the cold bit at her cheeks.
Jade looked straight ahead. Something about the woods in front of her looked funny. Although, she didn't realize that it was because she was coming up to a seven-foot drop until it was too late.
Jade instinctively thrust her hands outward in an attempt to break her fall. As she landed, most of her weight was put on her left arm. Jade winced as she heard a crack, and a sharp pain shot up her forearm.
Aw, man! That was so stupid of me! she thought, getting slowly off the ground. After a quick check, she found that her arm was the only thing damaged, save for several stinging cuts across her palms. Holding her broken arm close to her side, She found the cat's prints again, and kept following.
Soon, the tracks just stopped, right before a tangled bush. Jade crouched down and peered underneath the bush, and found and small, orange cat.
"Finally," Jade said to herself, reaching out with her good arm to grab the cat, "You've caused us a lot of trouble."
Jade held the cat underneath her right arm and straightened up. The air suddenly grew colder. Too cold. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, and a feeling of dread began to form in the pit of Jade's stomach. Jade turned and ran.
