Haley half smiled at the intricate little glass kitten that Kyle offered to her. Her smiled soon faded though as she realized that tomorrow she wouldn't know why it was with her, and she wouldn't have any idea from who. "Thank you, Kyle." Haley said to him, her tone full of despair as she tried thinking of a way to turn her diagnosis around. "Kyle, I don't want to be holding you back with me. Just because I've lost any new memories forever, doesn't mean you have to stick through it with me. When I'm 80 years old I'll still be doing the same thing. I'll have an everyday routine, and I won't even know the difference until I look in the mirror." She mumbled sadly as she looked up at him, unsure if she had said the same thing or something similar to that to him before.
Haley was saddened by her own words. She pictured herself 80 years from now, wondering why her best friend was suddenly gone, and why her body was aged and older. Haley's thoughts and words were ones she had almost every single day she woke up now. The same, never going to get married because she wouldn't remember her husband the next day, never going to have kids because she'd wake up with a belly bigger than the day before and not know how or why it had happened, not knowing the names or ages of her own kids if she even made it that far with somebody. Her life almost didn't exist to her every day after she found out the fatal truth of the accident. Haley sighed and looked to the ceiling again, putting her hands on her face as tears came from her eyes again.
