"I guess so, it's survivable so long as someone doesn't suddenly jump out and attempt to kill us. And you didn't have your can thrown at you, Mr. Hotshot." Austyn replied, coming into the living room and flopping on the opposite arm of the couch from Aoi, still a bit nervous about him. Dust went up and he coughed a little bit, swatting it away from his nose and eyes. His tail swayed a little as he listened to the older man's question, and then his ears went back as he considered if he should tell the truth or lie. Truth won, since he seemed like an honest person. His reasoning? How could you come up with a name like Aoi in five seconds? Just too out there. "My home town is Fort Collins, Colorado." He replied with a slight smile. Cold was his favourite type of weather, with lots of snow and pine trees.

Aoi chuckled a little at Austyn's words. "Nah, we are two. No one will mess with us." he joked and chuckled once. He lifted his gaze from the can when Austyn sat on the couch. "Colorado?" he asked frowning. "How is it there?" he asked curiously. He hadn't been to a lot of places during his life. He was living in shadows and narrow paths, barely even noticing the weather, the city and the houses. Forests were his home for a while and then again, in search of new hideaways. He was alone all this time so it was hard for him to roam around all by himself, afraid that is he was seen, he would get killed.

"Cold, very cold indeed. No wonder how I ended up so pale. And where did you come from?" Austyn replied with a smile, his fingers pinching the can expertly and removing the lid, popping it open with a sound that sounded like a cross between a pop, a plop and sploosh. Beginning to dig in, he kept his eyes slightly averted from Aoi as he waited for the other boy's reply.

"Cold? I love cold." Aoi said and smiled. "And you're not that pale as you think." Aoi glanced at Austyn with a smirk. "Well, I believe I come from Japan or somewhere there... At least from what I know... And I believe that my mother brought me here when I was a baby because the things there are more dangerous." Aoi was in deep thoughts now. "But, to tell the truth... It bugs me that I don't know the exact events that happened." Aoi sighed and looked down at the can, not hungry any more. He played with the can for a little more and let it fall on the old wooden floor. "No bad thoughts." he reminded to himself and shook his head as if he could get rid of them.

"Hm. Sounds pretty bad." Austyn replied softly, taking note of the other man's somber tone as he looked at the floor, and his cat ears perked as he heard the can fall to the floor. "Lost your appetite?" He commented. "Where I grew up, people like me were relatively accepted, although we did get made fun of at school. Then one day in middle school, a fight broke out and someone killed my younger brother with a pocket knife. Of course, I was so overcome by depression that I tracked him down. I won't go into details of what happened after that." His tone sounded as if he was letting out a secret that he'd kept inside for a very long time. And that was true, he never told anyone. I tortured that kid until he begged for mercy in the worst ways, I don't even remember why. His body was so mangled it was hard to tell who it used to be...

Aoi nodded as an answer to Austyn's question and then looked at him curiously and a little surprised. "Oh, I'm sorry for your little brother." he said feeling the pain of losing someone. "Don't worry, you don't have to say something you don't want to. I am curious but even my curiosity has limits." Aoi smiled warmly to him and then looked at the can. "Well, I didn't go to school much. And when I did, I always wore a hat and long t-shirts." he remembered and shrugged. "It was the only way to hide my ears and the freaking, annoying tail." Aoi sighed. He liked that he had ears, he found them cute. But, the tail was annoying to him. He looked out of the window and shook his head again as he started thinking much again.

"It's okay about Jayden." Austyn sighed, offering a slightly forced smile at Aoi. "My mom wouldn't let me go to school until middle school, so she homeschooled me for a while. Both of us, Jayden and I, were 'freaks', as people call them. Although, Jayden was a dog-human, like you, since we had different fathers." He added, following his train of thought and thankful that Aoi hadn't tried to pry on him like other people did about his history, and he moved onto the couch cushions now, feeling more comfortable with Aoi now that they were acquainted, as you might say even though they were practically strangers still.

Aoi nodded and looked at him. "Oh, well, I'm glad that you share something like that with me. A lot of others are very closed in themselves. I'm from those who believe that if you tell someone something that bothers you, you will feel more relieved and better." Aoi smiled friendlily. Then, he frowned a little. "You... how old are you?" he asked curious. "You seem pretty young.." he added and smirked. "You're a kid." he teased Austyn and placed a hand on Austyn's head to mess with his hair playfully before chuckling a little.

"Well, it's not every day that you get to talk to another person of my kind, or at least part way my kind, since you're part dog. And no, I am not a kid, Aoi. I'm nineteen years old and old enough to drive. You must be pretty old then, if we're talking about age." He studied the other male, resisting the urge to stare at him until his eyeballs ached. "You're roughly one trillion, I'm guessing." Austyn joked, swatting Aoi's hand away as it ruffled his hair.

Aoi made a pout and shook his head to a 'no'. "I'm not that old. If i was, I would have been dust." Aoi the widened his eyes in surprise and stared at Austyn. "You're that old? I thought you were younger..." he said and a smirk appeared on his face. "But I won't stop calling you a kid." Aoi smiled proudly and the thought a little. "I'm only 22. No big deal." he said and rolled his eyes. He chuckled a little and then put a hand over his mouth to yawn. He stretched his arms up and looked around. "Too bad there's no tv.." he complained and sighed. He then heard noise coming from the roof. Before he got worried, he noticed that it was only rain. "That is just great." he said sarcastically and sighed annoyed. "First tuna and then rain."
