Light stayed quiet, allowing Akane to talk.

"There are six other kids upstairs," Akane answered him. "Light and I came down here because he heard you open the door."

"Six?!" Aoi gave a start, then looked around him. His eyes settled on the huge staircase in the middle of the room. "Are they -- do they know where the hell we are?" Without waiting for an answer, he left Akane's side and ran for the stairs.

Light quickly moved to the side and allowed Aoi to pass, feeling the wind rush by him as he went. Light then looked back Akane, to see if she would follow.

"Aoi! Wait for me!" Akane called as she sprang after her brother, catching up to him quickly, and leaving a slightly bewildered Light behind.

It seemed that providing for both Akane and himself had given him a semblance of physical fitness: as he ran up the stairs, Aoi didn't feel as though he needed to stop, though he was still panting. Halfway up, careful to regulate his breathing, he called down to Akane. "Have you... talked to these other kids yet? Do... do they know where... in the world we are?"

Light began to also climb the flight of stairs on quick feet, attempting to catch up to the other two.

"Well," Akane began, panting, "No, the only I've talked to is Light, I haven't talked to the others yet," She drew in a quick breath, "But they were discussing about something, I forgot what it was, though."

[Sharubii]

"You... forgot? How could you for -- oh, whatever. We'll... talk about this... when we get there."

Aoi continued pounding up the steps, his breathing rasping against his throat. When he got to the top of the staircase, he turned and leaned against the railing, his head hung low as he tried to regain his breath.

Light soon reached the top of the staircase, shortly after Aoi and Akane had. He trotted past them, only panting slightly, as he walked back to the other kids.

Akane nodded, and took a heavy breath. She stopped by her brother, and slouched against the wall, panting heavily. Akane then held her head up, looking at the six other children, who were staring at them intently.

After Aoi got his breathing a bit more regulated, he raised his head and turned around, saying at the same time, "Okay Akane, where are these kids?"

He hadn't expected them to be staring straight at him.

"...o-oh." He blinked away his confusion and nodded to them, as though that could replace a proper greeting. "You're... ah... um." He grimaced a little, not sure how to start, then said -- rather tactlessly -- "Do any of you know where we are?"

Light was motionless, waiting for the other children to talk.

Akane watched all the kids, some shrugged, some shook their heads, a few were just silent, looking dead-ahead of themselves. Akane moved closer to Aoi, this is a little awkward...

Aoi gritted his teeth. "What are you, a bunch of babies?!" he yelled, clenching a fist. "Why don't you talk, dammit? Where are we?"
