999 ~First Nonary Game~ ((1x1 w/ Cinderfall and Sharubii))

So, um...pfft yeah.

Erm... Story?

The story takes place nine years before the second Nonary Game happened, there, a young boy by the name of Aoi and his little sister, Akane, are confined on a sinking ship and must escape. They meet seven other kids on the ship, including a blind boy called Light, and a little girl named Nona.
They must escape the ship...or they will surely drown...

Lolwhut.

I think you and I know the rules on CS rather well, so I won't post them. XD

Let's get started.

It felt so... unreal. The awakening, the confusion, the water sloshing at his feet as he made a desperate attempt to escape. It was the stuff of nightmares, feeling the water lap up his legs, higher and higher -- and he would have dismissed it as so, had it not been for the iciness.

He almost wished that the water was warm, so that he could retreat into that feeling of fuzzy disorientation again. There, he could relax and wait for the water to rise, rise, rise until he was engulfed in it, and just wait to wake up from the dream. Wake up... or stay asleep forever, whichever one it was. But as it were, he found himself very much awake, in the middle of of a nightmare that he suspected he wasn't about to wake up from.

And even when he had escaped from the claws of death, he found that he was only walking straight into its jaws.

Aoi ran as fast as he could down the hallway, a relentless wall of water zigzagging and bouncing off the walls -- and coming inexorably closer to him. Almost there... almost there... His breathing caught in his throat. What if he couldn't make it in time? What if the wave caught up to him before he could reach those steps, and it bowled him over? What if he couldn't get up after that, and ended up drowning?

Aoi quickened his pace, face pale with panic.

He was gasping for breath by the time he pounded up the short flight of stairs and yanked open the heavy metal door, wasting no time in running through and slamming it behind him. With his arms and legs shaking and the strength suddenly draining from his muscles, he slowly sank down onto the ground, staring straight ahead of him, but not really seeing.

I'm... alive, he told himself, trying to calm his nerves. I'm alive. I'm still alive.

Light stood up straight, he heard a noise come from down the stairs, it sounded almost like a door slamming shut. What was that? He asked himself quietly, as he began to move away from the seven other kids standing beside him. "Hey!" One of them called after him, it sounded like one of the little girls that he had heard, he turned around "Where are you going?" She asked him. Light casted his blind gaze back in front of him, "I...I heard something downstairs, I was going to go check it out..." He felt the other kids' gaze burning onto him, "What? I didn't hear anything..." "Me either..."
"Well," Light heard her take a step a step forward, "I'll go with you, it'd be really bad if you fell down." Was she suggesting that I can't go off on my own? Light wondered, Ah...oh well, it may be for the best... Light nodded, and started down the stairs, the girl following, "Hey, what's your name anyway?" She asked, "I'm just curious..." "Light." He said simply, "O-oh... well," Light heard her clear her throat, "I'm Akane." Light nodded once more.
Soon, they were at the bottom of the steps. He felt Akane stiffen as they reached it, "AOI!" She said, surging forward. Light stayed back, quite confused, What is she talking about?

Akane ran toward her brother, who was slouched against the wall. She got down on her knees beside him and threw her arms around him tightly, "Aoi! Are you okay?" She asked him worriedly.
Short part is short.

At first, Aoi couldn't comprehend what was going on. He heard some voices, yes, and felt something wrap around him... but in his shocked state, he couldn't make heads or tails of it. He just sat there silently for a moment, his eyes slowly taking in his surroundings. As his mind started to defog, he found himself recognizing the shapes that were around him. There was a boy with strangely gray hair, and a girl...

A girl? He knew this girl.
"...Akane!"

Quick as a flash, Aoi came back into reality. He found his arms wrapping themselves around his sister's body, though with them still shaking he could barely keep a hold on her. "Akane...! Why are you... what are you... you're here, too?!"

Light stood back, listening to them intently.

"Oh, Aoi!" Akane cried as her brother embraced her, "I'm so glad you're okay!" She hugged him tighter, "Where are we? Do you know?"

"Aaah, easy there, Akane," Aoi said with a wince. "That hurts!" He wriggled a little, a sign that she should probably loosen her grip before he pried her hands off of him. "I don't know where we are... but I don't like this place. You." He looked pointedly up at the stranger. "Where are we?"

Light looked up as the stranger Akane called 'Aoi' adressed him, Light shrugged his shoulders, "Ah... I don't know." He flicked his hand on a stray piece of hair.

Akane broke away from Aoi, reluctantly, and listened to Light as he spoke, staying close to her brother.

Shakily, Aoi got up onto his feet and dusted his pants off. "You don't... know?" he asked, his voice clouded with suspicion. "What do you mean, you don't know? You gotta know!" Despite himself, he felt a twinge of unadulterated fear grab at his heart, and he shook his head in denial. "It's not like nobody here knows where the hell we are! You have to, you just... you gotta know..."

Light took a single step back, putting his hands up, "Whoa, hey, I'm sorry I don't know, okay?" He took a deep breath calmly, "Just...just calm down..."

Akane put her arms around her brother once more, feeling a twang of guilt pierce her heart, "Aoi..." She whispered, "Maybe one of the other kids knows where we are...?" She whispered, referring to the other children on the next floor.

"Other kids?"

Under his sister's embrace, Aoi stiffened. "What other kids? There are more of us?" He looked from Akane to Light in turn, his face a mask of grimness. "Where are they?" he asked quietly, not speaking to either one in particular.
