Devan gasped and pulled her hand away quickly.

"its ok. its a greeting. thats how alphas greet each other. she thinks you are the alpha."

Devan was shocked. "I'm...but...you're the wolf, not me. And... I don't know why she'd think that at all."

"She knows. She thinks your alpha because you are female. Shes a bit of a sexist."

Devan blinked. "Oh," she said. She looked back at the white wolf and watched it carefully for a moment, then cautiously reached down to it with one hand.

Akira put her nose to devans hand in greeting. She then gently licked her hand and stepped away

Devan bit her lip self-consciously, but allowed the wolf to lick her hand. When it stepped away, she quickly tucked her hand against her chest. "I don't have to do that too, do I?"

"No. That is her way of saying you are a good alpha. she understands your ways are not the same as theirs."

Devan looked back at the white wolf. "A good alpha," she repeated. "I don't know how to be an alpha."
