Alana took his offer and climbed out of the water, walking over to him. She took the base of her shirt and squeezed it over Edward, sending water onto his chest. "Oops." She said with a little laugh, sitting down.

[Keith-Kogane]

He grabbed his tank top and dried himself off, then used it as a pillow. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet scents around him. The water, the grass, the flowers... Ed looked over at Alana. "Are you wearing perfume right now?"

"Yes, vanilla scented." She said, smelling the air around her. "I love vanilla so much." She said, happily. Alana layed back on the grass as well, watching some birds in a tree. "Where do you come from?" She asked curiously, not having seen him around much before the past couple of days.

[Keith-Kogane]

"I... live by myself. In a 2nd-floor apartment over on Maple Street. At night I work at the grocery store as a stock boy. Ya know, stocking, sweeping, that kind of thing. I make just enough to get by." His voice was sad, but there was an undercurrent of determination mixed in. "What about you?"

[SulliWolf]

"Well I live with my dad over that way." Alana said, pointing in the opposite direction. "I don't have a job though, I usually am outside a lot avoiding my dad." She said with a small sigh and shrug.

[Keith-Kogane]

Ed sat up and looked at her, concern swimming in his eyes. He rested his hand on her shoulder. "Why do you avoid him?" He paused and the concern was replaced by rage. "What does he do to you?"

"Well, umm, he drinks a lot. Sometimes when he drinks he gets angry.." Alana said, glancing away. "It is my own fault, I should know not to go near him but I do anyways." She said, trying to defend him a little.

[Keith-Kogane]

He gently put his hand to her face and made her look at him. "Does he hurt you?" His other fist was clenched tightly as if he wanted to run over to their house and kill that man.

"Sometimes.." Alana said, her hand automatically moving to her side. She dropped it quickly. "He doesn't mean it though, he doesn't know what he is doing when he is drunk." She said, shaking her face out of his grip. She somewhat lied, it was true that he didn't know what he was doing when he was drunk, but sometimes even when he wasn't drunk he would hit her out of anger.

Ed looked at her side where her hand had just moved from. "Alana, let me see your side." He reached out to her side and gently grabbed her shirt.
