Ed sat up and looked towards the door. "Hey, do you hear that? It sounds like someone is walking up the apartment stairs. I'm the only one up here from that door..." He jumped up.

Alana panicked. "I told you, he always ends up finding me." She said quickly, getting up. "See I am just causing problems."

Alana's dad stormed up the stairs, pounding on the door he arrived at. It was funny how she thought she could leave so easily. He laughed to himself. He smelt strongly of alcohol and after a couple of seconds he sent a fist through the door, unlocking it and storming in. "Alana!" He yelled angrily, looking around the apartment.

Luckily Ed's bedroom door concealed them from view. He turned quickly to Alana. "Go. NOW. I can't let him hurt you again!" He pushed her towards the window. Turning, he walked calmly out to meet the man in the kitchen. "Hello, sir. May I ask why you so rudely broke my door open?" He glared calmly at the man, his hand hovering about the knife drawer, ready to grab a weapon if needed.

Alana shook her head. "No." She said as he left, walking over to the door and watching them.

"Where is she?" He growled, ignoring the kid. "I know she is here." He eyed Edward's hand that hovered near the knife drawer. "Don't even try it, I am just here to get my kid back, then go." He hissed, clenching his fists and looking around.

Ed laughed cynically. "Sir, you can't just barge into my house and demand to get your daughter back. How do you know she's here? Do you even know who I am?" He narrowed his eyes dangerously. "Now, please leave." He was calm, but forceful.

"I saw her come over here, I am not stupid." He growled back. He had followed Alana out of the house when she ran off, watching where she went so he could get her later. "You are testing me boy." He said, pointing his finger at Edward. He started walking around the apartment, looking in the rooms.

Ed quietly grabbed a large butcher's knife out of the drawer. "Hey, it's not polite to go poking around someone else's house!" He glared at the man, hiding the knife. He walked over and grabbed his shoulder. "Get out!"

Alana's dad growled, grabbing Edward's arm and pushing him against a wall. "DON'T touch me." He said angrily, punching him in the stomach.

Ed clutched his gut and fell to his knees. "Dangit old man, get out of my house before I call the cops!" He struggled to stand against the wall. He had to keep him from finding Alana. He pulled the knife out and jumped at the man, pinning him to the wall. He held his arm against his back and the knife to his neck.

Alana's father kicked Edward in...a spot.. and pulled one of his hands free, quickly reaching into his pocket and grabbing a pocket knife. He stabbed Edward right in the stomach with an angry face. "You got what was coming to you." He growled, standing above him.
