"Nah, I was never one to jump into the action like you can. I lay low," Lance responded, looking around the cafeteria to see if anyone was staring, and luckily no one was. Sighing as he finished his bagel, Lance set his empty juice box down on his styrafoam tray and looked at Azlyn. "Anything else you want to know?"

"Nope," Azlyn said, leaning back again. "I just came over to see why you were alone."

"That works," Lance said with a one-shouldered shrug. "I'm going to throw this out. Stay if you like, or go back to your friends..." He trailed off, looking at Azlyn's friends throwing food at other unpopular kids like him. Sighing, he walked to the garbage to throw out his tray.

Azlyn's eyes trailed Lance. She then turned swiftly around to catch Jasey watching her. She gave Jasey a dagger-look and shook her head sharply. Jasey shrugged turned back around, ignoring Azlyn's silent command to stop the food throwing.

Lance walked back to his table, shaking his head. "Jasey's a crazy kid," he commented about her current actions. "Are you two really friends?"

Azlyn nodded. "I guess friends is a good way to explain it. I don't want to go fully into detail, at least not here," she explained.

"You don't have to tell me," Lance said, waving her off. "It's fine. It just seems like you can be nice when you want to, and she's just always torturous and mean. Just saying." He put his hands up in defense.

"She's, uh, been through quite a bit," she said. "She usually really isn't this bad, she's just one of those people that you have to get to know well enough."

"I see," Lance said thoughtfully, totally understanding what Azlyn was saying. He'd known quite a few people like that in his lives, and it normally didn't end well for them... "Just keep an eye on her," he said with honesty in his voice. "I've known people like her, and they've made some poor life-changing choices."

Azlyn grinned. "Oh, believe me, she's already made some bad ones. She's been to juvenile jail for a bit, she actually just came back," she said, looking at Jasey.

((If you don't know, juvenile jail is basically this little jail system for bad kids where what they did isn't severe enough to be put into jail for.))
