[.Jason.]
"Rules? I don't do rules."
[[...There's an angel on my shoulder
There's a devil at my door...]]
Frozen, as if still in time, Jason's piercing blue eyes darted from one man to the other, wondering how on earth he was going to get himself out of this situation. He had his knife in his pocket, but that would only get him into more trouble. He could run, that would make things worse. Maybe if he got to the castle first and managed to give the bracelet back himself, everything would be alright. Getting to the place was the trouble however.
He kept the bracelet hidden in his jacket, and tried to think. Although it was tough to think in this situation. There were guards on two horses coming towards him, while the others were on foot. He remembered how he used to have a horse. It was a stallion named Trip. Poor Trip had died of old age. The horse had actually been his mothers horse, and when his mother passed away, he had to care for it. It was already well old by then. Now all that was left was his angry drunken father, and a dog. What good was that. Brushing the thoughts aside, he focused on his situation again.
Stepping back he realized he had room to run behind him. Taking a few more steps back, he turned to the side and ran. It was the only thing he could do at the moment. As soon as the total of five guards had caught up, he had run off again.
"He's getting away! Hurry up now!"
He heard the calls of the men.
It was the adrenaline that kept him going, pumping through his body, his blood pulsing. Jason ran, in the direction of the royals "castle". He'd seen it, he'd snuck around there, he knew where it was. Soon enough the castle could be seen. He'd been running for quite a while, and he was tired. The horses were on his heels. Slipping over to the side, he hid by the side of the wall, long enough for some of the guards to travel past him at the moment. Slipping past he ran.
before long one of the horsemen who had followed him had arrived in front of him. No escape now. Jason's hands and knees were scraped, and the side of his neck was scratched. His breath was heavy and tired.
"No where to run now boy!" The guard sneered before reaching towards him. Jason's first thought was to strike back, and that was what he tried to do. The horse was becoming more and more spooked, and when Jason swung his arm behind the man, the horse reared. Luckily this horse was skittish. If it had been hardy, Jason would have never been able to scare it into rearing. The man slipped, and Jason struck him across the face as he fell. Catching the reins he swung himself up onto the horse, and out of fright, the poor horse simply bolted at full gallop towards the castle, the direction in which he had been running before.
As they arrived at the castle, Jason managed to pull the horse over and slipped off, and ran towards the back of the castle- where there was no main entrance. Little did he know Sawyers father had already called upon more guards, to come after him. Why oh why out of all the people, did this have to happen to him.There was a mix of anger, fear, confusion, and frustration, all mixed in, as Jason tried to find the princess. Unfortunately for him, she was nowhere outside, and no where to be found.
{Guh. this was kind of suckish. XD}
