Jason didn't say anything as he slowed his pace slightly. Waiting a moment he heard the girls voice once again. His attention drifted back towards her, but he didn't turn around. He could feel her eyes on him. If he stayed any longer, someone might recognize him or something and he would surely be in trouble then.

His striking blue eyes seemed to want to turn around and face the girl, though he tried to resist and keep where he was. Somehow, just maybe he felt as if he should turn around and actually talk to the girl, and the other side of him knew he should just leave before there was any miss-understanding or anything. "Jason." he replied to her question. "The name's Jason." he finally answered, glancing over his shoulder for once, since he really couldn't resist it. His striking blue eyes looked over her for a moment before he headed out. Something about this made him feel that they were probably going to meet another time.

{So sorry I haven't been able to get on in a week!}

As the man's pace slowed, Sawyer found her anticipation growing a tad while she awaited his response. The name's Jason. Her curious expression grew to a smile, and for a moment she held his gaze before he turned and left, but this time, she didn't follow. Something told her she didn't have to.
[time skip]
"Father, I'm home!" Still maintaining the smile she'd held from a time before, she ran up the steps into her room, hanging her instrument's case upon the hanger as always. She sat upon the bed for a moment before pulling out a notebook from the drawer beside the bed, opening it and pulling a pen out of the same drawer and beginning to write down something that may have seemed odd to others. She was making a list to represent her day, and within it, she wrote simple things that confused others when they attempted to read what she'd written.
In the faint scribble that was her cursive handwriting, the few words were legible; Jason, blue eyes, embarrassment, a first meeting.

Placing the book beside her, she sat, still thinking what more to write when she heard her maid calling for her to tell her that the meal was ready, running down the steps two at a time, she came to a skidding stop at the table, seating herself. Her father, however, had been walking past her doorway when he'd seen the notebook in which she often wrote, and curious as to what was written, he glanced over it, surprised by what he saw.
"Daughter?"
Oh no. "Yes father?" Her voice was wary when he came down the steps to the table, his eyes glinting with curiosity and humor. "Is there something about your day that you would like to tell me?"

[[...There's an angel on my shoulder

Jason had been walking for quite a while, and had wondered whether or not he should just go home. Well at least back to the place he wished he could call home. His father was never home, and when he was, he was either drunk or angry. He'd even left his dog at home for the time being since he wasn't going anywhere special, and because earlier in the morning he had gotten in trouble because his dog had stolen a chicken from the a store in the town square. Pushing the thoughts aside, Jason continued on.

An hour or so had passed, and Jason had gotten himself a sandwich and a soda. He wasn't in the mood for beer at the moment. He only had half of his soda left before he downed that as well. All was alright, which seemed quite unbelievable for him, before he heard angry voices coming from some direction. He wasn't quite sure what or who it was, or who they were, and wasn't sure what was going on. Brushing the voices away he turned a corner and walked down the neat street-side, glancing from tree to tree, before shoving one hand into the left pocket of his jacket to see if he had any change or money left for the day. Shuffling around, he found some loose change, and some dollar bills in his back pocket, but as soon as he found that, his fingers ran over something that didn't feel like cash, or coins. A confused expression crossed his face as he gripped the object, realizing it was more like a chain. Pulling it out of his pocket, he realized it was a bracelet.

His memory flashed back to the time he and Sawyer had met in a collision. For a moment, he looked it over, with an amused, yet interested expression. The bracelet was actually quite beautiful, and had little charms around it. It was silver with accents of gold around the edges. Suddenly he heard the voices coming towards him. He could have sworn he might have even heard a horses hooves. His eyes widened at this, as he suddenly realized what was happening. They were guards. The guards that stayed at the castle. They had probably gotten news that Sawyers bracelet was missing, and it was all going to come down on him.

If he didn't get out of there soon, he was going to be in a horrible situation and he knew it. Darting around the corner he walked quickly, at a fast pace, from one side to the other, and then broke into a jog. Still, those angry voices continued to increase around him.
"That way!"
"Over there!"
"He's gone that way! Surround him!"

He could hear the various voices, and already his mind was racing. Heart pounding. Who knows what would happen if he was caught. Hell, he probably wouldn't even live to see another day if they thought he stole it. They would never believe him if he said he didn't do it.

{Wow this was long XD}

Something caused Sawyer to be extremely startled, and she found that her father's gaze was wandering the room a tad, his food balanced precariously upon his fork threatening to fall back upon the platter. She glanced down, the fork still held in her hand, and when she looked down, she nearly panicked.

Her charm bracelet, the rather expensive gift from her mother, was gone. A faint tan line was evident where the bracelet had been, and for a moment she wondered if this was what her father was speaking about. After all, he seemed to be trying to contain an emotion of some kind, but it was often obvious when her father was truly angered. Which, if the bracelet was truly gone then he would be furious.

"I beg your pardon father?" Her voice was quite faint in the room, as though she feared startling a fuse of anger which her father may have hidden within himself, but he merely smiled, resting his chin upon his hand a moment later with his elbow resting upon the table in a manner of ill manner. "How was your day dear?"

Oh how simple he thinks of me. She knew it was a trap, but it made her wonder how he had known that she had met the young man in the town today but she kept to herself the benefit of a doubt treading carefully with her words. "Oh the children's danced beautifully at today's practice, and we made quite a few adjustments to the song and it sounds lovely no-" "Darling, you know quite well that I'm not speaking about your practice. Did you perhaps meet someone of interest to you, perhaps someone that you met in the town this day?"

Waving her hand as though to brush off the thought, Sawyer attempted to laugh but it merely came out as a dry chuckle, and the moment passed immediately when her father grabbed her wrist. "Where's your bracelet? Where is your mother's bracelet?"
Well, that had been a mistake, but she managed a small smile to herself, at least that hadn't been what he'd been speaking about earlier.

His shouts grew in volume as he released her hand, merely pointing now at what a mistake she had made letting it out of her sight, but when she didn't speak and merely hung her head, his voice faded as he realized it may not have been her fault. But of course, he'd even misinterpreted that thought. "Guards, Guards!"
Two men immediately seemed to emerge, and he sent them off to find a certain man who he'd presumed had stolen his daughter's priceless bracelet.

But of course, it wasn't long before the guards found him, surrounded the poor lad who'd only just learned what had happened.

Frozen, as if still in time, Jason's piercing blue eyes darted from one man to the other, wondering how on earth he was going to get himself out of this situation. He had his knife in his pocket, but that would only get him into more trouble. He could run, that would make things worse. Maybe if he got to the castle first and managed to give the bracelet back himself, everything would be alright. Getting to the place was the trouble however.

He kept the bracelet hidden in his jacket, and tried to think. Although it was tough to think in this situation. There were guards on two horses coming towards him, while the others were on foot. He remembered how he used to have a horse. It was a stallion named Trip. Poor Trip had died of old age. The horse had actually been his mothers horse, and when his mother passed away, he had to care for it. It was already well old by then. Now all that was left was his angry drunken father, and a dog. What good was that. Brushing the thoughts aside, he focused on his situation again.

Stepping back he realized he had room to run behind him. Taking a few more steps back, he turned to the side and ran. It was the only thing he could do at the moment. As soon as the total of five guards had caught up, he had run off again.
"He's getting away! Hurry up now!"
He heard the calls of the men.
It was the adrenaline that kept him going, pumping through his body, his blood pulsing. Jason ran, in the direction of the royals "castle". He'd seen it, he'd snuck around there, he knew where it was. Soon enough the castle could be seen. He'd been running for quite a while, and he was tired. The horses were on his heels. Slipping over to the side, he hid by the side of the wall, long enough for some of the guards to travel past him at the moment. Slipping past he ran.

before long one of the horsemen who had followed him had arrived in front of him. No escape now. Jason's hands and knees were scraped, and the side of his neck was scratched. His breath was heavy and tired.
"No where to run now boy!" The guard sneered before reaching towards him. Jason's first thought was to strike back, and that was what he tried to do. The horse was becoming more and more spooked, and when Jason swung his arm behind the man, the horse reared. Luckily this horse was skittish. If it had been hardy, Jason would have never been able to scare it into rearing. The man slipped, and Jason struck him across the face as he fell. Catching the reins he swung himself up onto the horse, and out of fright, the poor horse simply bolted at full gallop towards the castle, the direction in which he had been running before.

As they arrived at the castle, Jason managed to pull the horse over and slipped off, and ran towards the back of the castle- where there was no main entrance. Little did he know Sawyers father had already called upon more guards, to come after him. Why oh why out of all the people, did this have to happen to him. There was a mix of anger, fear, confusion, and frustration, all mixed in, as Jason tried to find the princess. Unfortunately for him, she was nowhere outside, and no where to be found.

{Guh. this was kind of suckish. XD}

The commotion outside saved Sawyer from having to speak to her father about what had actually happened, but even if she'd needed to speak she may not have told the truth as per selfish reasons. It was interesting, her father's rather dark expression of anger frightened her a tad, while her own thoughts were one of curiosity, mainly in who it was that her father had sent out for.

Shouts that the man had gotten away worried her a tad, but she couldn't understand what was happening. Her bracelet hadn't been stolen, rather she had lost it herself. She felt terrible in that fact, and perhaps she was attempting to mask her guilt in being selfish through not telling the truth. It never really crossed her mind that the fact that she wasn't speaking could be hurting someone, causing someone to struggle to protect themselves, but maybe that was her ignorance revealing itself.

Yet another set of shouts led Sawyer to the window, and though her father didn't move from where he stood, she opened the window, leaning out on the sill before it to look out across the back yard in an attempt to find the source of the noise. She'd thought that she'd heard something in the back that obviously her father hadn't initially heard, and she looked about with an expression of curiosity hoping to find what was going on.

Her eyes searched the yard, her gaze passing the garden, the fountain, and for a mere moment passing over a man who seemed to be searching for someone in the area. She didn't know who it was, but there was something about him that was familiar, and when her gaze finally met his for a mere moment, she recognized the striking blue eyes.

"Guards, guards capture that man!"
Her father's voice was loud beside her, her ears ringing for a moment as guards ran into the yard, surrounding the man.
Well, I suppose that would explain where my bracelet had gone...

Jason already felt horrible about this situation, and somewhat angry, though also a bit fearful. He couldn't help it, he was in the middle of major chaos revolving around a royal girls bracelet. No sight of Sawyer what so ever. Now he felt kind of stupid for trying to even find a way in. Guards would be everywhere at this point. He was screwed. Not sure what to do.

His hood was down since he had started to run, revealing his sleek dark blonde and brown streaked hair, some of it falling over his eyes as he tried to search for Sawyer. He could almost hear the guards footsteps as they echoed through the halls and rooms of the huge castle. There was no way in hell he was finding any one of help around here. He felt stupid enough for even attempting to do such a thing.

As soon as that thought crossed his mind, he noticed a window open. In his own surprise he noticed Sawyer peeking out, probably wondering about the commotion. All his fault. Again. His face almost looked relieved when he saw her, but she was all the way up by a window.
"Sawyer!" he called, just to get her attention.
Before she could reply, he added, "Looking for this?" before grasping the bracelet through his fingers and holding it up. "Can you come down here?" he questioned, his smooth, yet deep voice sounding a bit hurried, slightly frantic.

Hearing his voice, Sawyer smiled a tad, recognizing it a moment later. At least she knew now that it really was Jason... Whoever he was anyways. It took a moment for her to figure it out, and she nearly laughed realizing how foolish it all was. She didn't even know this guy, all she knew was his name and his eye color. So what else?

She almost blurted his name in reply though, still leaning out the window, when he spoke once again his voice reflecting his obvious worry. She once more tried to reply when her father pushed her aside, pointing at Jason a moment later, still shouting for the guards to arrest him. "Father wait-" "Don't interrupt me Sawyer."
"But Father!"
Turning, his face quite red with anger, Sawyer was at least a note happy that the initial anger hadn't been directed at her but that faded quickly.
"I said, don't interrupt me. You're already in enough trouble for merely knowing this boy, as he seems so comfortable calling you by your name. Now."
Returning his gaze to the yard, he shouted out once more. "Arrest him for god's sakes!"

"Father stop it!" She nearly debated telling him the truth but once more something stalled her, and she turned before he could reply and ran down the steps, finding herself a moment later in the backyard, no shoes on and her hair a note of a mess as for nearly having fallen down the steps in the total of her grace.
She paused in front of Jason a moment later, the guards looking a tad worried about what they were to do, and her father now screaming for them to arrest the man he was so sure had stolen the bracelet.
Now... Which is more humiliating?

Jason knew it. He was done for. The guards were surrounding him now, or at least they were attempting to surround him. Before he knew it he could hear another voice yelling from inside, and then Sawyer was outside. Barefoot, and her hair looked a bit messy, though he didn't really notice. It kind of made him smirk at the scene. She looked quite amusing, yet this was serious. At first he didn't even know what to say, let alone the girl.

"I believe this is yours." He smirked lightly, before reaching out his arm to hand her the bracelet, which he was holding. He could hear the man upstairs yelling even louder now, and it was getting rather threatening. His striking blue eyes met hers for a moment before she could actually take the bracelet, and his expression was quite apologetic.

"You dropped it earlier...." he murmured for a moment with a little smirk across his face before it disappeared when he heard a few guards getting agitated.
Two guards swung forward from behind him and one seized his right arm. An expression of confusion and apology both crossed his face before another guard pulled his other arm. He barely had time to actually make sure she had the bracelet let alone hand it to her.

Oh god... I made a fool of myself again.
Sighing a tad, a smile became evident for a moment when he smirked, at least he wasn't mad at her. After all, this was her fault. She went to take the bracelet back, though her movements were not incredibly fast paced, but the moment she heard her father speak one more command, she knew it was over. As the guards moved to grab Jason, she nearly told him to run but she knew it wouldn't have worked, and the moment the guards had grabbed his arms she nearly found the bracelet falling as she hadn't gotten a good grip on it.

Her expression was one of confusion, frustration, and pure annoyance with her father, and she turned to face the window, shouting now in return to her father. "He told you what happened, didn't you hear him? I dropped it earlier, all right, it was my fault?" But he hardly cared.

She felt terrible, but at the same time she didn't know why she cared so much, after all she only knew this boy's name. "Are you trying to prove something father?"
"Daughter, I do hope you realized you're earning yourself a ticket out of the fair."
Her voice died right then, and she glanced at Jason with a slightly apologetic smirk, and a moment later she replaced the bracelet upon her wrist.
