Moonshine tried not to trample the plants.

Patchpaw opened her mouth to taste, the air, and stiffened.

Moonshine turned to her, "What's wrong?"

Patchpaw glanced at Moonshine, her throat stuck with words. Finally, she croaked in a tiny mew, "Fox family."

[Spitfyre]

Moonshine opened his mouth, scenting, "Up that tree. Now." He paused nuzzling her one last time. "I love you." He whispered for what may be the last time.

Patchpaw looked at Moonshine. "I'm not going to leave you alone!" She hissed.

[Spitfyre]

Moonshine looked at her in anguish, "Please... Patchpaw... Just hide. I couldn't bear it if you were hurt." He spun aroud as a fox lunged at him. He sank his teeth into it's throat, shaking it.

Patchpaw looked at Moonshine with knowing, and shook her head, growling. "I'd never leave you alone if you got hurt!" She hissed. "I'll go and get backups!"

[Spitfyre]

Moonshine tried not to get distracted, "But Patchpaw, they'll be able to scent me on you..."

"Well, I won't let you take them on on your own!" Patchpaw insisted. "I can help you! I've learned a few battle moves from time to time!"
