"How about deer?" he asked, he had been deer hunting only once, but it was hard to hunt where he lived. He drank more of his coke, halfway through with it. "You could ask for more." he added.

"True, but I don't want to bother anyone." She put the cup down, and continued to read. "No, they don't have any deer. But there are plenty of deer on Hunting Island, in Beaufort, which is about three hours away from Myrtle." She tapped her fingers in a musical pattern on the table, simply out of habit.

Damon listened to the rythm as he glanced at them. "Well we will have a bunch of time to go to all these places. We should take baby steps though." he said, chuckling and taking another long sip of his coke.

Anessa laughed a little, more or less of a giggle. "I suppose so. I've just been so many places, I'm used to going wherever whenever. Whenever my sights are set on something, I always go head on and refuse to stop trying to get there as soon as possible."

"Well if you plan on staying here I would say one or two big things a day plus other things will wear you out." he said, moving his straw in his coke.

She shrugged. "I guess so. I just..change myself to suit the situation." A thought struck her, and she turned to Damon. "You don't hunt deer, do you?"

"I have only once." he said, moving his straw to a side and looking up at her. "Never will again." he took another sip of his coke, mostly to stall some of the talking.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Anessa layed back in her seat. "Good, good." She closed her eyes and let her memories fill her head, practically bringing her back to her childhood. Through the scars and then through the meadow, on the plane and finally where she was now.

Damon grabbed a packet of salt and open it a bit, pouring a bit in his hand. He smiled and moved it around his hand before throwing a bit over his shoulder. "It might be for when you spill it on the table, but I just love throwing it over my shoulder." he explained before any questions were asked.

Anessa's confused face and raised, questioning finger subdued themselves. Laughing, she asked, "What if someone turns around and you get salt in their eyes? That would just, well, suck." She smiled, then turned her attention to the rhythm of her fingers.
