[Choco]

Peryn rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Dodge, I always feel normal when I'm around you. It doesn't matter. Don't beat yourself up about it." She said, leaning over to him and softly kissing his cheek.

Dodge gave a small sigh and looked up towards the sun heating himself. It seemed so close, yet so far away. Just like a lot of other things. Including normality to him. "If you say so," he told her and looked back down.

[Choco]

Peryn felt guilty, although she had no idea why. She sighed softly and bit her lip, crossing her arms and watching the sand. "Are you feeling better now, Dodge?" She asked in a small voice, not looking up at him as she spoke, continuing to watch the sand.

"Yeah. I'm not going to get up for a few more seconds though, because I have no idea if I'll stay standing. Past experiences with this, ya know?" Dodge said. He looked at Peryn and felt bad, knowing he'd probably made her upset. Why did he have to go off and ruin things? "Feel like sitting next to me for awhile?"

[Choco]

Peryn nodded and kept her gaze on the sand, biting her lip. "Of course I'll sit next to you for as long as you need it." She said, uncrossing her arms and drawing a picture on the sand with a soft sigh. She still felt pretty guilty for making him go into the water, and the feeling didn't seem to want to go away.

Oddly enough, with the lull of the water lapping against the shore, and the feel of Peryn next him, he felt as though he was going to fall asleep. He laid back, basking in the beauteous warmth of the sun and slowly began to drift off, until a small snore began emitting from him. Yes, he'd just been asleep a little while ago. But this was a very peaceful sleep.

[Choco]

Peryn looked down at him and smiled, softly stroking his hair away from his forehead and running her fingers through it, amused at how cute he looked laying there like that. She yawned and lay back, closing her eyes as well and smiling. She could see how he'd fallen asleep in this warm position.

As Dodge slipped deeper into his "sun-induced coma", he started to dream. He was in the water, but this time the sky was a deep pearly grey and he was no longer the Dodge of age twenty-something or another. He was the Dodge who was six years old, and just starting to show his snake heritage. He'd gone into the water, but when he got in he couldn't move. He screamed for someone, anyone to help him, but the only person who came was the idiots who hated him. They were so much taller....And they knew it. They dunked him, and he thrashed about in a desperate attempt to breath...

Peryn sighed and opened her eyes, sitting up because she knew she shouldn't fall asleep. She shook her head to get rid of any sand and looked down at Dodge, surprised at how soundly he was sleeping. She couldn't resist running her hand through his hair, just to see if he'd wake up. She sighed softly as she did so, biting her lip at how peaceful he looked.

Dodge struck out in his sleep, nearly hitting Peryn on the face.in his dream, he had started to tread water and could not escape. With a cry he shot up, out of his own sleep. He'd only been asleep ten minutes or so and he'd already had a nightmare. Was there something wrong with him suddenly? He had forgotten how much he was afraid of the water, because it had been so long since he was near the water...
