Peryn shivered as she became conscious. She felt a long scratch down her arm, and she found she couldn't scream or make any noise for some reason. Shock, probably. Her eyes flickered open but they were unfocused, flickering around everywhere but not really seeing anything. Ground moved under her body but she wasn't the one making it move. How could she, when she could barely see a thing?
As Sabriel reached his home, the girl started to move in very small movements. He dragged her up a tree and into an old, but large treehouse. He carefully moved her onto a hay covered floor, making sure she wasn't in any pain, then left her to rest.
Peryn could feel the shock setting in. Down her arm, she could feel a small trickle of blood dripping down. She pulled herself up against the wall and glanced around the place she'd been dragged to. There was a small covering of straw on the floor-hay, her mind told her. After a few minutes, the shock slipped off and she could see clearly. A rather large wolf was standing by the exit and as she glanced around, she spotted a small window, yet it was large enough for her to slip through.
Sabriel could see the girl waking up and moved towards her slowly. The closer he got, the bigger the scar on her arm seemed to grow. He was a little taken back at what he could do in just one scratch.
Peryn froze in fear when the wolf moved closer to her and glanced at the window once more. She was bleeding, and the wolf was probably hungry by now. She yanked her sleeve down over her wound, hoping to stop the bleeding at least a little.
Sabriel stopped walking when she saw the anxiety in her eyes. He saw her cover her scar and wondered if it was painfull. Sabriel took aother step closer. At this point, he was about a metre away from her.
Peryn found she could stand up, so she did so, leaning against the wall for support. Her gaze stayed fixed on the wolf, apart from the odd flicker to the window and back.
Sabriel thought he saw the girl look at the window, but he wasn't 100% sure but because he needed the girl, he moved over and stood in front of the window, which was only slightly ajar.
Peryn frowned when the wolf moved towards the window. The only good thing right now-at least to her-was the fact she wasn't dead. Yet. She took a shaky step towards the door.
