Merlin grabbed a torch and lit it. He walked around and soon heard the noise of the Afanc. "Arthur, it's that way!" He lied pointing in the opposite direction hoping to get rid of Arthur so he could use magic.

Arthur shrugged following the tunnels to a dead end "Merlin there's nothing here.." he muttered annoyed, drawing his sword he back tracked and took a turn leading him an intersection.

Merlin muttered some latin at the torch and the fire raged towards the Afanc. The flames licked the sides of the beast, burning it.

"Merlin?" Arthur called out as he approached a deep pond, and picked up a small capsule covered in red markings. "Merlin! You twit" he yell a little louder when Merlin didn't respond.

Merlin exhaled, "It's gone, we defeated it!" He gasped bending over

Morgana rushed in after hearing Merlin say it was gone,

Arthur jumped when he saw Morgana nearly dropping the capsule "Let's go" he muttered walking out of the cave and mounting his horse. "I must tell my father the water is safe once more" Arthur smiled riding off (Timeskip)
"Father, I have defeated the Afancs" Arthur smiled proudly handing him the broken capsule/egg.

Gaius waited in the corner, for Arthur to leave. As he waited he took in the detail of the egg, noticing Nimueh's mark. (We should do the poison one)

Uther smiled, "I knew you would!" He said standing up and walking over to Arthur and putting his hands on Arthur's shoulders, "Excellent, the kingdom is safe once again!"

Merlin smiled knowing he actually defeated it but he didn't dare confess that.

Gaius approached his old friend "Uther I can't help but suspect these Afancs are the work of a very powerful witch" he gestured to the egg "I believe these are the mark of Nimueh"

Merlin followed Arthur, "What a happy ending!" He said cheerfully

Morgana went back to her chambers wishing for once Gwen was there to comfort her...
