And, as if Chimere/Freeman's pleas were answered, one of the Civil Protection units came over. Wearing their gas mask and black and white suit, he motioned with the tazer-on-a-stick, "Get over." He rasped, then when she didn't respond in a second, he jabbed her in the back with it and lead her to a small room with an electric chair. bloodstains around the chair told a story no mortal could say without puking.

Wincing as someone jabbed her in the back with something, Chimere growled at them, wishing that she still had her expressive wings and eyes. Taking in the bloodstains with a cool indifference, she was glad that her mind hadn't changed much in a mortal body. At least there are some pieces of myself left....

The CP shut the door and hit a button on a futuristic keyboard, "I'll need some privacy with this one." He said and laughed evilly, and all the cameras in the room shrank. Then, the guy took off his hat, revealing a young boy face, "Hey Gordon!" The guy said, grinning. This was Barney, yet another guy who was just a baby before the Black Mesa Incident, who had grown up on tales of the old Black Mesa and the old world. Most of those tales included the next religious figure, Chimere's host body.

Rubbing her face with these new and alien hands, Chimere radiated confusion. "Wait, who?" she asked, looking at the human before her with a questioning look in her eyes. "Who are you? What is this place? Who the hell am I?" Looking around her again, she roundly cursed this mortal body in Latin, the dead language rolling off of this new tongue with surprising ease.

Barney frowned and looked Chimere/Gordon over, then chuckled, "You hit yourself with that crowbar, didn't you?" He joked and turned around, then typed in something. A bald man's face appeared on the screen.

"What is it, Barney? I'm in the middle of a critical test." The iconic scientist on the screen said.

"Sorry Doc, but...Look who's here." Barney stepped over, revealing the very confused Elder God.

"Crowbar? What? Who are you two?" Chimere asked, looking around her again. Finally deciding that her confusion had gotten her nowhere, she growled deep in her throat, these new eyes flashing. "Alright, you two. I don't care who you two are. All I want to know is; where the f*ck am I, and how do I get out of this world?" she snarled, teeth bared.

"I think he hit his head with the crowbar..." Barney whispered to the screen and the scientists nodded, Then the undercover CP cop leaned away, "Alright, I need to go. I'm way behind on my beating quota..." He said and hit the cancel button, then turned around, "Alright Gordon, you need to stay away from the checkpoints. You were about to get killed back there! The Resistance needs you!" He nagged like he was her mom.

Holding her head in her hands again, Chimere wished that she could still scream at people in R'lyehian without hurting herself. "You don't listen well, do you?" she growled, glaring at him from between her fingers. "Alright, I'll narrow it down to one question so as not to hurt your pretty little mind. Who. The. Hell. Am. I?"

Barney was really starting to get creeped out by how "Gordon" was acting, "Um....Gordon Freeman. You're 27-well, older now, but you're physically still 27-you went to MIT, you're a theoretical physicist...And you're pretty much the next religious leader. Like the Pope, man. Oh-and I owe you a beer. See you!" He said and practically pushed Chimere out the back door. Halfway through his little description of Chimere's host, other CPs started banging on the door.

Still trying to comprehend what was going on, Chimere nodded silently to the kid, exiting the room. Well, then. At least I know something, although it's not a terribly useful something. In fact, knowing me, it's not going to work in my favor.... she thought, trying to figure out how she could get out of this dimension without her powers.
