Berryfeather smiled. "I think that's a great idea," she meowed. "I'm sure Jadepool would've appreciated it.

Blossomkit bounced beside Thistlefoot excitedly. She wanted to see the new kits so badly!

Thistlefoot

Thistlefoot stuck his head inside the nursery just in time to hear Thorntooth say, "I'm glad to hear it," and smile, relieved. Whatever they'd been discussing, Thistlefoot knew it must be about the kits, for Thorntooth was gazing down at them with the warmest, most tender look. Thistlefoot cleared his throat. "Mind if we come in? Blossomkit would like to see the new Clan members."

[Kess]

Berryfeather nodded and moved over to make room for the elder and the kit.

Blossomkit giggled and tumbled in. The two kits lay at their mother's bellies, suckling happily, as Blossomkit padded up to them. She sniffed them both carefully and purred.

Mistcloud smiled at Blossomkit and meowed to Berryfeather, "Oh, isn't she darling? The kits will have a good time playing with her when they get big." A sad look fell on her face. "Of course, Blossomkit will get bigger too...and she won't be so kit-like anymore." She sighed. "Ah well. Blossomkit will be a good playmate for them, I can see it now."

Jackalfur padded up to Sandstar. "What's going on? I heard Mistcloud kitted?"

Sandstar

Just as she'd exited the nursery —it had been getting a bit crowded, what with Thistlefoot, Blossomkit, and Brightsky being in there— when Jackalfur skidded to a halt in front of her, asking what was going on. "Yes, Mistcloud kitted. She had two, Emberkit and Jadekit. If you're wanting to see them, I'd wait a bit— the elders are visiting now and there's no room in there." She purred, amused.

[Kess]

Jackalfur dipped his head. "I was going to ask if you and I could go hunting." He lashed his tail. "We're getting low on prey and I was wanting to talk to you about the Gathering tomorrow."

Sandstar

Sandstar nodded. "Sure. I'd planned on going hunting later, anyway. When we get back I'll have you send out a small hunting patrol, and a border patrol. Cats are still recovering, but there are a few that didn't get hurt too badly. Where shall we hunt?" she asked, stretching and flexing her powerful claws into the dirt. Sitting still for so long and being so tense in the nursery while the kitting was taking place had made her joints stiff.

[Kess]

Jackalfur thought for a moment. "How about Snakerocks?" He despised snakes, but he figured there would probably be some good prey there today, since it was cold and Snakerocks was generally a warm place for prey to hide.

Sandstar

"Good choice," she meowed, straightened, and led the way out of the camp enterance. The forest was cooling off again as the seasons changed from greenleaf to leaf-fall. Pretty soon prey would be getting scarce again and survival overall for the cats of ThunderClan would get harder. But we'll be stronger for surviving, she thought as she walked next to Jackalfur.

[Kess]

Jackalfur dipped his head. "Great." As they walked, he turned to look at her and meowed, "So, about the Gathering...who are you planning to bring?"

Without missing a beat, she said, "You, myself, Echoheart, Darkpaw, Pebblepaw, Hailfur, Fluffwhisker, Fallownose, Berryfeather, and Harefoot. My brother needs to get out more. He hasn't been to a gathering since Fallenbranche's death."
