Jadepool
Pure regret washed off Jadepool in waves. "I'm sorry," she said in a whisper. "I was...I was wrong. And jealous." She looked up at Whiteberry, wishing there was something she could say. "If I could go back in time, I would have stopped myself. I was a fool. Whiteberry, I will never do this again, or let anything bad happen to your father or Jackalfur." She took a deep breath and stood up. Then, padding ever so nervously towards Whiteberry, she gingerly touched her nose to the white she-cat. "I hope StarClan has mercy on me someday," she meowed softly. "Though I don't deserve it at all." Then she turned to go.
Jackalfur
Jackalfur's ears flattened. He stared down at the body of Whiteberry, still oozing blood from her mouth. "How could Starclan do this to me?" He screeched. "How could they take her from me?" He tried to stand up, but there was a violent tearing sound and he fell back to the ground with a howl. The medicine cat apprentice rushed to his side and peeled away the layers of cobweb. Something trickled down Jackalfur's side and he noticed Berrypaw flinch as she looked at his wound.
It must be bad, Jackalfur thought.
I'd take more than that wound to get Whiteberry back...Berrypaw
Berrypaw dashed to Jackalfur's side with a squeak of fear. What had happened? She'd heard that awful tearing noise, and she was afraid he'd caused more skin to rip. When she peeled off all the cobwebs, his wound had torn all the way down his spine. She gasped in revoltion. She could LITERALLY see his rib bone!
